Rick Wieser was the starting quarterback at SEMO for both the 1974 and 1975 seasons after transferring to SEMO from Fort Scott Community College. Wieser was the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player and earned First-Team All-MIAA honors in 1975. He quarterbacked the 1975 team to an undefeated record in conference play. Wieser won the Vogelsang Most Valuable Player Award on the gridiron. He also played one season of baseball at SEMO in 1976. The then-Indians finished third in the College World Series that year.
