About Us
The Sundancers are the premier and dynamic dance team for the Southeast Missouri State University Redhawks. The Sundancers perform at all home football games, home men's & women’s basketball games and participate in numerous fan engagement appearances. Participating in Sundancers clinics are great first steps toward dancing at the Division I college dance team level. At our clinics, dancers will receive choreography & technique combinations, feedback & tips to prepare for spring auditions along with a unique opportunity to connect with current Sundancers and head coach.

Yes, we compete at NDA Collegiate Summer Camp and NDA College Nationals.

Do you accept video auditions?
We would prefer to see all potential team members in person, but if the tryout dates conflict with prior commitments, we do allow a video tryout. You will need to contact Katherine Hart at kahart@semo.edu for all the necessary elements to be included in the video as well a deadline to submit it. Please be aware that higher expectations will be placed on those that send in a video audition.

What do I need to wear to tryouts?
We ask that everyone bring their own dance shoes to dance in and comfortable dance attire. We strongly suggest a sports bra/top and dance pants. We also expect everyone to look "gameday" ready (make-up, hair done nicely, etc.)

What elements are required at tryouts?
Everyone will be taught a dance consisting of the following elements of dance: pom, jazz, and hip hop. Technical skills must be performed and will either be done in a choreographed sequence or individually.

Complete at least 12 credits each semester and maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 2.50 or higher.
