Southeast Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame
1967-1970
Donald Metz was a four-year letterwinner in baseball at Southeast. Metz was also the leading scorer as a freshman on the basketball team. He was named captain and Most Valuable Player of the 1970 baseball team and finished his career with a .330 batting average. Metz was named to the Topps NCAA Small College Baseball and District 5 All-Star Teams. He hit .415 as the Semi-Pro Baseball Player-of-the-Year in the Summer Victory League. Metz was inducted into the Southeast Missouri Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004 and officiated Final Four Missouri State Basketball Tournaments in 1982, 1988, 1993, 1998 and 2003. He was a member of the Athletic booster board in 2002.
