Paul Ebaugh was an outstanding two-sport athlete at Southeast Missouri as a member of the football and track & field teams. Ebaugh was a four-year starter playing offensive and defensive line. He earned Second-Team All-MIAA honors at defensive tackle. In track, Ebaugh placed second in the conference in the discus as a freshman. He was then a three-time MIAA champion in that event. Ebaugh graduated as the school’s record holder in the discus before serving in the military and rising to the level of captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he earned the Navy Commendation Medal, a Bronze Star and Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. He passed away at the age of 71 on Jan. 19, 2016.Â
