On Saturday, January 26, 2019, Southeast Missouri State revealed its new Rowdy the Redhawk mascot.
Rowdy was born (or more appropriately hatched) on January 22, 2005 during the time Southeast Missouri State experienced its rebirth in its athletic identity with the introduction of the school's new logo and nickname as the Redhawks.
More than 6,600 fans and a national television audience helped welcome Rowdy to Cape Girardeau.
Rowdy is a fan favorite and has been instrumental in the success of the Redhawk athletic teams. He is never too far from a Southeast athletic team, always cheering along the way. Rowdy enjoys spending time with his biggest fans, the children who attend athletic events.
An avid participant in community service activities, Rowdy is always willing to lend a helping hand and meet new friends. When not at sporting events, he is often seen at parades, schools and other functions in the Cape Girardeau and neighboring areas.
