Mary Kate Farrington was the first in school history to score a perfect 10 in a gymnastics event. This was achieved on the vault on March 24, 1995 and then repeated on March 18, 1997. Farrington is the only gymnast to have scored a perfect 10 in two events. She scored two perfect 10s in floor exercise on March 11, 1997 and March 14, 1997. Farrington owns the top-five vault scores in school history and the top-three scores in floor exercise. She was a member of a squad that owns the top-three team records in vault and floor, as well as the top-two team scores. In 1997, Farrington ranked ninth in the nation in floor exercise, fourth on floor and ninth on vault in one of the toughest regions. Farrington was the first Southeast gymnast to place among the top-three finishers at a Division I Regional. At the Midwest Independent Championships, she was a vault medalist four years in a row. One of Farrington's proudest achievements was when she was named Saint Francis Medical Center's Female Athlete-of- the-Year in 1997.
