Southeast Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame
1940-1943
Behrens made the game-winning field goal in the 1943 NAIA National Championship basketball game. He drained a shot at the top of the key with just six seconds remaining to give Southeast the national title. An All-Conference selection for the national champions who finished 19-6, Behrens went on to a distinguished career in higher education, including 22 years as an administrator at Southeast.
