Williams was a baseball All-American in 1983 and 1984, and holds Southeast's career record in home runs with 52. He played professionally in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. In football, Williams led the team in punting in both 1981 and 1983, and holds the Southeast record for best average in a game with 52 yards per punt against Murray State in 1983.
