Cindy Gannon's dedication and commitment to SEMO Athletics is unparalleled. She was SEMO's head volleyball coach for 16 seasons, where she accumulated 366 career victories, the most in program history. Her teams won eight Ohio Valley Conference regular-season titles and five OVC Tournament crowns. SEMO won the OVC five years in a row from 1993-97. Gannon was named the OVC Coach of the Year a total of four times throughout her career (1993, 1995, 1996, 1999). She coached five OVC Players of the Year and one Freshman of the Year. In all, 51 of her players earned All-OVC honors. Academically, SEMO garnered seven American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Academic honors under Gannon's tutelage. Individually, two SEMO athletes were named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans. Gannon transitioned from coaching to administration in 2005 and served two stints as the Redhawks interim Director of Athletics. She was also the Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at SEMO. In that role, Gannon was the sport supervisor for the volleyball, soccer, softball, tennis, track and gymnastics teams in addition to overseeing event management and strategic communications. She was also responsible for the athletic department's equity and diversity programs, and departmental policies and procedures.
