Track & Field Concludes Day Two At Georgia Tech Invite

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Southeast Missouri Track & Field team had another successful day at the Georgia Tech Invite. The Redhawks finished day two at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Complex with eight top five and 13 top ten finishes. 
 
Podium Finishes
Breanna Miles finished with the silver medal crossing the finish line at 24.11 in the women's 200-meter. 
 
Makenzie Williams finishes in third place with a throw of 160' 0' (48.78m) in the women's discus. 
 
Laila Hardin picked up the bronze medal in the women's 400-meter hurdles finishing in 1:00.13. 
 
Katie Wegmann competed in the women's 800-meter grabbing the silver medal. Wegmann ran a time of 2:09.63.
 
The men's 800-meter saw Terrico Garrett finish with the bronze medal crossing the finish line at 1:49.83. 
 
Top 5 Finishes
The women's 4x100 relay team of Serena Williams, Leanza Dwahh, Daja Gordon, and Breanna Miles finishes in fourth place crossing the line at 46.23.
 
Serena Williams placed fourth with a jump of 39' 3.25" (11.97m) in the women's triple jump. 
 
In the men's discus throw Dylan Clark threw for a mark of 177' 11" (54.22m) picking up a fourth-place finish. 
 
Notable Achievements
Luke Busateri placed seventh in the men's triple jump, getting to the distance of 47' 0.75" (14.34m) and Isaac Readnour Placed 11th with a jump of 44' 6.75" (13.58m).
 
Sophie Dubis cleared the height of 5' 3" (1.60m) in the women's high jump placing ninth. 
 
The men's pole vault saw Sullivan Gleason place seventh and Colin Beers place 11th. Gleason vaulted for a height of 14' 11" (4.55m) and Beers got to a height of 14-5 ¼ (4.40m). 
 
In the women's discus throw Megan Deimeke threw for 137' 3" (41.85m) and finished in 11th place. 
 
Taylor Fox ran in the women's 800-meter placing 11th with a time of 2:12.26. 
 
Clay Alewelt notched a mark of 172' 0" (52.44m) in the men's discus throw placing seventh. 
 
Momoh Brema, Mark Crawford, Brenden Parham, and Terrico Garrett were the only Redhawk team to compete in the 4x400. They finished in eighth place with a time of 3:16.78. 
 
Looking Ahead
The track and field team heads to Memphis, Tenn. next Friday and Saturday for the Memphis Invite, April 28th - 29th.
