MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Southeast Missouri Track and Field squads split and competed in two meets Friday.
At the Memphis Tiger Invite, SEMO earned two event titles in the opening field events.
Cole Bruenderman won the men's long jump with a new personal best mark of 24-2.50. He topped a field which also included
Matt Pluff (3
rd, 22-11.50) and
Aarion Jackson (4
th, 21-9.75).
Sullivan Gleason also won his lone event topping the men's pole vault field after clearing 16-5.75.
Colin Beers tied for second reaching 15-7.75, just ahead of
Tanner Koontz who also cleared 15-7.75.
In the women's javelin
Kennedy Zgaynor led SEMO with a fourth-place finish with a throw of 150-6 just ahead of teammate
Ava Dumke who threw 139-3.
Avery Graham reached 121-9 to finish in seventh and
Anna Thomason finished ninth with a throw id 111-6.
In the men's hammer throw
Zavier Winton finished third with a throw of 176-3 ahead of
Mark Goldman (5
th, 169-3) and
Quinton Maxwell (147-7). In the women's event, SEMO claimed places 6-9 with
Alyssa Repke leading the squad (6
th, 165-5) ahead of
Andreese Ortiz (7
th, 162-1), Ellie Rhinehart (8
th, 160-9) and
Bailie Hux (9
th, 156-7).
Emerson Gross also finished in 11
th with a throw of 151-2.
At Jim Green Invite,
Jon'David White finished 11
th in the 400m hurdles setting a new personal best of 56.68. In the women's 200m
Alaina Lester led a trio of Redhawks finishing in 24.84,
Makayla Jones finished in 25.07 and
Jasmine McClelland crossed the line in 25.33. In the javelin,
Jackson Witvoet set a new personal best reaching 172-7.
Both meets will wrap up Saturday.
