TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Southeast Missouri women's track & field finished second overall at the 2021 Sycamore Open with 95.50 points Saturday at the Gibson Track & Field Complex. The Redhawk men took fourth overall, finishing with 80 points.

Carli Knott represented SEMO at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, on Thursday.
Drake Relays
Shea finished fourth in the 5,000 meters on Thursday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, with a career-best time of 16:20.44. Shea improved upon her SEMO school record set earlier in the 2021 season at Bill Cornell Spring Classic on March 21 in Carbondale, Illinois. Shea ranks 37th in the NCAA West Region for the event.
In the women's 1,500 meters,
Carli Knott completed the race in 4:28.09 after breaking the SEMO program record this past week at the Black and Gold Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee, to garner Ohio Valley Conference Co-Female Athlete of the Week honors.
2021 Sycamore Open
Nicole Humphreys finished second overall in the hammer throw with a personal-best distance of 177-7 (54.13m). Humphreys now ranks fifth in SEMO history for the event.
Kendall Long won the 400-meter hurdles with a mark of 1:01.96 at the 2021 Sycamore Open.
Jaden Kight, a sophomore from Whitewater, Missouri, won the javelin with a throw of 120-7 (36.75m).
Tayler Gudde added a mark of 101-3 (30.87m) for fourth and
Serena Williams finished with 72-8 (22.15m, 11th).
On the men's side,
Josiah Kilgore captured the javelin title with a distance of 193-7 (59.01m).
Justin Breault finished as the runner-up with a throw of 174-10 (53.29m) and
Josh Kile tallied a mark of 149-2 (45.48m, eighth).
Schuyler Ogden finished second in the men's 5,000 meters in a personal-best 15:26.37.
Seth Gleason was third (15:32.26) and
Thomas Doss took fifth (15:35.90, PR).
On the women's side,
Jane Boessen completed the 5,000 meters with a PR time of 18:42.29 for fourth.
Kristen Carter finished as the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 15.10.
Briann Jenkins (16.20, 10th) and
Tayler Gudde (20.03, 13th) also represented SEMO in the event.
Serena Williams took second in the 200 meters, finishing in a personal-best 25.43.
Briann Jenkins was eighth (26.62) and Long tallied a time of 27.70 (16th).
Serena Williams was also second in the triple jump, compiling a mark of 38-0.75 (11.60m).
Leslie Brooks completed the competition sixth overall with 35-8.50 (10.88m).
Tallyn Brazell finished second overall in the men's high jump in 6-4.75 (1.95m).
Anya Tonga posted a shot put heave of 45-1 (13.74m) for second at the Open. Humphreys (39-11.50, 12.18m, eighth) and
Makenzie Williams (35-5, 10.79m, 14th) also competed in the field event for the Redhawks women.
Makenzie Williams added a throw of 156-3 (47.64m, sixth).
Ellie Gamradt overcame a height of 5-1 (1.55m) for third in the high jump. Gudde added a mark of 4-7 (1.40m, 13th).
Anthony Forrest was clocked at 15.02 for third in the 110-meter hurdles.
Shea DeGraaf finished in 15.36 (fifth).
Austin Perkins took fifth in the 800 meters in 1:56.01.
Griffin Bailey concluded the race in 2:00.76 (14th). In the women's race,
Taylor Fox finished the race in 2:28.38 (13th) and
Danielle Mohrmann (2:52.41, 20th) also represented SEMO.
Katie Schumer propelled herself over a height of 11-1.75 (3.40m) for fifth in the pole vault.
Jack Rinehart concluded the men's competition with a feat of 15-3 (4.65m) for third.
Clayton Eftink led the SEMO men in the 1,500 meters, crossing the finish in 4:08.89 (18th).
Trevor Falco (4:11.58, 21st) and
Kory Snyder (4:15.00, 25th) also ran in the event for the Redhawks.
Taylor Fox and
Danielle Mohrmann posted consecutive marks of 5:08.03 (26th) and 5:08.12 (27th), respectively, in the 1,500 meters.
Nia Rivers added a time of 5:29.60 (34th).
Jon Bissell concluded the 100-meter dash in 11.81 (14th). He also registered a time of 53.09 for seventh in the 400 meters. DeGraaf followed Bissell in 53.79 (eighth).
Isaac Readnour finished the 200 meters in 22.98 (ninth). Forrest chipped in a time of 23.70 (12th).
Readnour also had a triple jump of 42-4.25 (12.91m) to take fourth in the event.
Briann Jenkins registered a long jump distance of 16-5.75 (5.02m, 12th).
Serena Williams finished with 16-0.25 (4.88m, 15th) and
Leslie Brooks tallied a jump of 15-8.25 (4.78m, 18th).
Bissell posted a long jump of 20-2.25 (6.15m, ninth).
Clay Alewelt registered a shot put throw of 47-10 (14.58m) for eighth. He was also fifth in the discus (153-0, 46.64m) and eighth in the hammer throw (163-1, 49.70m).
Dylan Clark (148-0, 45.12m, 10th) and Bissell (125-9, 38.32m, 16th) also represented SEMO in men's discus.
Makenzie Williams paced the SEMO women in the discus throw, compiling a distance of 139-2 (42.41m) for fifth. Humphreys chucked the discus 138-3 (42.15m) to take sixth.
Logan Blomquist won the men's hammer throw with a career-best mark of 222-4 (67.77m), competing unattached.
SEMO will next head to Lexington, Kentucky, April 30 through May 1 for the Kentucky Open held at the UK Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
