CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Southeast Missouri throwers opened up the Joey Haines Invitational Friday afternoon with the hammer throw event.
In the women's competition,
Alyssa Repke was the highest finisher for SEMO and set a personal best mark reaching 173-11. Ellie
Rhinehart also qualified for finals in the event finishing in eighth also with a personal best throw of 169-5. Other SEMO competitors included
Andreese Ortiz who finished 10
th with a personal best throw od 157-1 and
Emerson Gross who finished 15
th with a throw of 149-9.
On the men's side
Zavier Winton led the wat for the Redhawks with a new personal best throw od 185-11 to finish fifth.
Mark Goldman also made finals when he finished eighth with a throw of 170-11, which was another personal best.
Quinton Maxwell also competed and he finished 15
th with a mark of 147-5.
The Joey Haines Invitational will continue Saturday with the meet program starting at 11 a.m with field events. The track events will follow at noon.
