Redhawks Head to Lindenwood for Second-Straight OVC Road Series
Southeast Missouri Baseball (21-8, 5-1 OVC) will play its second-straight OVC series on the road beginning on Thursday evening at Lindenwood (12-16, 0-6 OVC) and continuing through Saturday afternoon. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, with Saturday slated for 1 p.m., CT. from Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo. 
 
Sawyers vs. LU
The Redhawks and Lions will meet for the 10th, 11th, and 12th time(s) under head coach Andy Sawyers. In 10 seasons, SEMO is a near-perfect 8-1 against Lindenwood under Coach Sawyers' guidance and took two-of-three from LU in 2025. SEMO dropped the second game of the contest 10-4 last season, marking the first loss to LU in Sawyers' tenure. The Redhawks won game one, 2-0, before securing the series win with an 11-1 victory. 
 
Rivalry Tuesday Dub
Southeast Missouri hosted longtime rival Murray State on Tuesday night and got dominant pitching from RHP Caden Kickhaefer, LHP Matt Wnukowski, and RHP JoJo Keldsen en route to an impressive 8-1 victory at Capaha Field. The trio combined to allow just one run on four hits from the Racers as Kickhaefer (1-1) picked up his first victory of the season in the outing. Wnukowski pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless baseball and did not allow a single hit over eight hitters while punching out two. JoJo Keldsen picked up his first save of his DI career as he pitched the final 3.0 innings allowing just one run on two hits and punched out four Racers. The offense was led by first baseman Cal Sullivan who finished with five RBIs for the third time this season as he went 2-4 at the plate with a home run and a run scored. DH Joe Hall and centerfielder Caleb Klein were responsible for the other three runs. Hall drove in a pair of runs while Klein recorded a single RBI as the Redhawks extended their winning streak to three games. 
 
Non-Conference Dominance
SEMO Baseball wrapped up their 23rd non-conference contest on Tuesday night with the 8-1 victory over Murray State. After those 23 games, SEMO holds a 16-7 non-conference record and have lost just three non-conference games at home with the last coming all the way back on February 28. SEMO has just three non-conference opponents left in Southern Illinois (Apr. 21), Missouri (Apr. 28), and Austin Peay (May 5). 
 
March Recap
The Redhawks had a dominant month of March as the squad finished the month with a near-perfect 16-1 record. SEMO began a 13-game winning streak on the first day of the month with a 4-2 victory over Miami (OH) and carried that streak all the way until March 27 before their lone loss of the month. SEMO picked up wins over Miami (OH), Evansville (2x), Milwaukee (3x), Missouri State, Wright State, UT Martin, and two at Western Illinois. SEMO heads into the month of April with a 21-8 overall record. 
 
Shut Them Down
The Redhawks improved their record to 20-0 when leading after the sixth inning on Tuesday night. SEMO led 6-0 after six innings last night against Murray State and added a pair of runs in the eighth inning for insurance as they picked up win number 21. The bullpen is headlined by RHP Gavin Johnston and LHP Ranard Grace who lead the pen in opposing batting average with .188 and .222, respectively. 
 
More Hits = Wins
SEMO's offense has been on an absolute teary through the first 29 games of the season. The Redhawks have outhit their opponents in 17 games this season and hold a perfect 17-0 record when outhitting their foes. The Redhawks have been outhit in just 12 games in 2026 and hold a 4-8 record in those contests. 
 
Score, Score, Score
After 29 games this season, SEMO Baseball sits atop the Ohio Valley Conference in runs scored with 236. The Redhawks are averaging 8.1 runs per game which ranks them atop the OVC and 41st in the nation. Georgia Tech is leading the country in runs scored per game at 11.4 so far in 2026. 
 
Dominant on the Mound
The Redhawks pitching staff leads the Ohio Valley Conference in three major pitching categories in strikeout-to-walk ratio (2.65), strikeouts per nine innings (9.0), and walks allowed per nine innings (3.41).  SEMO Baseball ranks 30th, 91st, and 17th in the entire country, respectively, in those categories. 
 
Incredible Defense
SEMO Baseball enters the series at Lindenwood with the nation's second-best defense and ranks atop the OVC in team defense as well. The Redhawks have a .986 fielding percentage as a team and trails the nation's leader (Incarnate Word) by just .001. The Redhawks have played 19 games this season without committing an error and hold a 16-3 record in those contests. In the other 10 games, SEMO has committed at least one error and are 5-5 in those games. 
 
The Producer
First baseman Cal Sullivan is the Redhawk'' top RBI man so far this season through 29 games. Sullivan has driven in 33 RBIs in 2026 and is coming off his third, five-RBI performance of the season on Tuesday night and has recorded multiple RBIs in nine different games this year. DH Joe Hall follows just behind Sullivan with 32 followed by Caleb Klein with 26. 
 
Always on the Bases
OF Caleb Klein has reached base safely in all 29 games this season for the Redhawks. Klein, who has made every single start in center field this season, leads the club with a .458 on-base percentage and stolen bases with eight. He is 8-11 on stolen bases this season and ranks 10th in the OVC in swiped bags. He's also come around to score a team-high 36 runs and ranks third in the league in that category. 
 
Hawk Vision
Infielder Brooks Kettering has led the SEMO Baseball program in walks for two-straight seasons, and he continues to lead the club in his third season in Cape Girardeau. Kettering, a junior from Springfield, Mo., recorded his 19th and 20thwalk of the season after drawing a pair of walks on Tuesday night. He currently ranks seventh in the OVC in base-on-balls and trails the top spot held by Connor Crowson of Tennessee Tech by four (24). 
 
Kick Fires
Senior RHP Caden Kickhaefer made his first start on the mound since February 24 on Tuesday night versus Murray State. The Salina, Kansas-native pitched a season-high 3.2 innings and did not allow a run and struck out three Racers over 76 pitches. He has recorded three strikeouts in four games this season as Tuesday night marked the first night he's pitched since March 18. 
 
JoJo Saves
RHP JoJo Keldsen had a career night on Tuesday night as he picked up his first save of the season and the first in a Redhawk uniform. Keldsen, a junior from Watsonville, California, pitched the final 3.0 innings of Tuesday's contest as he allowed just one run on two hits and struck out a season-high four opposing hitters. He has pitched 20.1 innings this season and has a 6.20 ERA with 14 strikeouts.
