Redhawks Baseball hosts Miami (OH) for Four-Game Series this Weekend
Southeast Missouri Baseball (3-6) will host Mid-American Conference member Miami (7-1) for a four-game weekend beginning on Friday, February 27 and running through Sunday, March 1.  All four games will take place in Cape Girardeau from the friendly confines of Capaha Field.Â

Series Setup
The Redhawks and RedHawks will play a four-game series beginning on Friday at 3 p.m., CT. Saturday will feature a doubleheader between the two clubs beginning at 12 p.m., with the second game beginning roughly 30-minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Sunday's finale is slated to begin at 1 p.m., CT.Â

Redhawks vs. RedHawks
Southeast Missouri State and Miami University are both nicknamed the Redhawks. One signature distinction between the two is SEMO spells its mascot as 'Redhawks' while Miami University capitalizes the 'H', i.e. RedHawks. Three schools are nicknamed the 'Redhawks' including the two this weekend and Seattle University, who joined Division I athletics on July 1, 2025.Â

This weekend's series marks the first ever meeting between the two programs on the baseball field. 10

Andy Sawyers has led the Redhawks against six teams from the MAC and has an overall record of 17-8 against teams from that conference. Most recently, the Redhawks took two-of-three from Northern Illinois out of the MAC during the 2025 campaign at a netural site in Oxford, Alabama.Â

Southeast Missouri traveled to #25 Ole Miss on Tuesday afternoon in midweek action. The Redhawks fell by a final score of 13-3 in seven innings from Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi. SEMO jumped out to a 1-0 lead after Designated Hitter
Joe Hall roped his first-of-two RBI singles to score
Caleb Klein from second base. Hall finished 2-4 at the plate with a pair of RBIs in the contest. Mississippi scored nine runs over the first two innings, three in the first and six in the second, to extend their lead to 9-2 after two innings. SEMO's pitching staff held the Rebels' lineup in check over the next four innings as RHP

Ranard Grace, and RHP
Nathan Mertens pitched 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball into the seventh inning. The Rebels scored four in the seventh to complete the run-rule victory Tuesday night.Â

Joe Terranova made his third-straight start of the season on Tuesday night at Ole Miss. Terranova drew a walk in the top of the second inning as the first-of-two-straight walks drawn by the Redhawks in the inning (Yule). Terranova recorded his first stolen base in a Redhawk uniform as he took third base and later scored on an RBI single by

Joe Hall had an impressive day in Oxford on Tuesday afternoon. The Kansas City, Mo.-native finished 2-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI singles as he now has 14 hits on the season through nine games. He ranks fourth in the OVC in hits and 51
st in the country in the category. He leads the club with a .424 batting average with four extra base hits.Â

Sophomore catcher
Tank Sims recorded his first extra base hit of the season on Tuesday afternoon. Sims roped a double against Ole Miss marking the first double of the season and his career, as he missed 2025 due to redshirting. He is hitting .294 (5-17) and has started five games behind the dish this season.Â

First baseman
Cal Sullivan leads the Redhawks in the RBI category as he has 12 RBIs through the first nine games of the season. Sullivan, who has played in every single game so far this season, ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference in RBIs and is 76
th in the country. He has three games this season with multiple RBIs including a season-high five earlier this year against Illinois State (2/15).Â

th in the nation in sacrifice bunting.Â

LHP
Ranard Grace had an impressive inning of work on Tuesday night back in his home state. The Madison, Mississippi-native dealt a scoreless inning against Ole Miss as he struck out a pair of Rebels and did not surrender a hit. He has eight strikeouts on the season in just 4.2 innings pitched and has allowed just two earned runs this season. In three-straight appearances, Grace has not surrendered an earned run.

RHP
Eddie White had a standout performance on the mound for the Redhawks on Tuesday night. White pitched the longest of any pitcher in the ballgame from a SEMO perspective as he went 2.1 innings. White allowed just two hits over nine hitters faced, struck out one, and surrendered just one walk without allowing a run. White has now allowed zero runs 14 different times in his career coming out of the bullpen for the Redhawks.
