COLUMBIA, Mo. - Southeast Missouri cross country team had a successful day at the sixth annual Gans Creek Invitational posting ten new personal records.
The Redhawk men placed 24th with 680Â total points while posting two new personal bests. The women's team placed 31st with 877 points while notching six new personal records.
Men's 8k
Noah Little led the Redhawk men for the second time this year, ending with a time 24:34.7 (93rd) ahead of 232 other athletes.
Nick Cimmarusti and
Garrett Dumke placed 116th and 136th with times of 24:43.1 and 24:50.9 for the second and third Redhawk men scorers.
With times of 25:07.6 and 25:43.8
Myles Thornburg (167) and Freshman
Evan Fuller (235) achieved new personal bests while rounding out the scorers for the men.
Finishing out the scorers for the men was
Cade McCadams with a time of 26:11.5 (268),
Justin Splitt with a finishing time of 26:34.3 (286), and the freshman
Sam Rinehart with a time of 27:25.8 (309).
Women's 6k
Freshman
Nova Ojutkangas led the women for the third time in as many races. She crossed the line at 21:04.1 (50th) ahead of 283 other athletes while achieving a new personal best.
Lauren Eftink and
Erika Mellor both posted new PR times of 22:35.5 (200th) and 22:59.4 (238th), for second and third in the women scorers.
Brooklyn Bender crossed the line at 23:07.7 (251st) and
Kayla Vogelsang finished with a time of 23:10.9 (259th) while both achieved new personal records to round out the women scorers.
Alayna Sparr and
Madelyn Gray finished just four spots apart with times of 23:21.6 (271st, New PR) and 23:28.5 (275).
Layla Fliege ran the 6k race in 23:38.2 (279th) and
Cordelia Hoover notched a time of 23:40.8 (282nd).
Men's 8k Open
Clayton Eftink led the men's 8k open with a time of 26:25.3 (165th) followed by
Micah Grawer's finishing time of 26:26.4 (167th).
Cole Reinders,
Byron Sowerby, and
Tyler Anderson chalked up times of 26:30.9 (173rd), 26:34.5 (182nd), and 26:37.8 (189th, PR)Â
With times of 26:50.7, 27:04.2, and 27:31.5
Jacob Blassingame placed 213th,
Louis Primeau placed 229th and Trey Mcgatt placed 267th (New PR).
