
Ojutkangas Breaks SEMO Record at the Angel Mounds Invite

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Southeast Missouri Cross Country enjoyed a successful Angel Mounds Invitational, finishing with four new men's personal bests and sixth new women personal records.

Redshirt Sophomore, Nova Ojutkangas led the Redhawk women for the fourth time in as many races while crossing the finish line in 20:31.3 ahead of 159 other athletes, breaking the SEMO 6k record of 20: 42.77 set by Hannah Eastman last year.

Noah Little led the Redhawk men for the third time this season after crossing the line at 24:25.1 for fifth
Garrett Dumke and Nick Cimmarusti placed 11th and 16th with times of 24:48.0 (New PR) and 24:55.2 for second and third for the Redhawk men.
Rounding out the scorers were Evan Fuller in 40th (25:30.3) and Byron Sowerby in 46th (25:37.8), both were new personal records.
Cade McAdams and Justin Splitt placed 48th and 55th with 25:38.4 and 25:52.1
With times of 26:17.8, 26:18.8, 26:19.8 (PR) Clayton Eftink, Myles Thornburg and Tyler Anderson placed back-to-back-to-back.
Jacob Blassingame finished with a time of 26:43.0 (106), while Louis Primeau and Sam Rinehart notched times of 27:13.3 (128) and 28:02.7 (167).

Ojutkangas placed first for the Redhawk women, and Lauren Eftink and Brooklyn Bender posted times of 22:45.7 (24th) and 22:49.1 (26th, PR) for the second and third women scorers.
Erika Mellor and Mattea Pearsall both chalked up new personal bests with times of 22:55.1 (29th) and 23:00.9 (34th) to round out the women scorers.
Kayla Vogelsang and Alayna Sparr recorded times of 23:08.1 (41st) and 23:11.1 (45th) for new personal records.
