Redhawks End the Georgia Tech Invite with Two First Place Finishes

Cape Girardeau, Mo. - The Redhawks ended the Day Two of the Georgia Tech Invite with two fist place performances, 11th top ten finishes and five new personal best.

Second to None
Terrico Garrett achieved a new personal best and placed first in the 800-meter with a time of 1:48.94.

Paden Lewis claimed the gold and a mark of 169' 1" in the men's discus ahead of 34 other athletes.

New Personal Bests
Marcus Gordon jumped over the hurdles for 400-meter in a time of 54.81 for a new personal best.

Erika Mellor ran the 800m in 2:13.08 for 15th and recorded a new personal best.

Brianna Dixon and Megan Aubuchon crossed the line at 25.31 and 26.60 to set a new personal best times in the 200m.

Top Five Finishes
Alivia Busch threw for a mark of 146' 11" in the discus for fifth place.

Laila Hardin crossed the 59.41 to take third in the women's 400-meter hurdles.

With a distance of 159' 2" and a fifth place finish Marshall Swadley achieved a new PR.

Noteworthy Performances
Sydney Burdine ran the 400m dash in 55.47 for 12th place. 

In the women's high jump Brianna Dixon (6th) and Molly Grohmann (8th) jumped over a height of 5'5.

The trio of men's pole vaulter's, Tanner Koontz (7th), Colin Beers (9th), and Sullivan Gleason (9th) vaulting over a height of.

Erika Mellor ran the 800m in 2:13.08 for 15th.

In men's discus Parker Feuerborn notched a distance of 145' 10" for 11th.

Breanna Miles crossed the line at 23.89 to take eighth in the 200-meter.

Serena Williams jumped for a distance of 38' 8.75" in the triple jump (13th).

The Men's 4x400 squad of Connor Moore, Mark Crawford, Brenden Parham, Terrico Garrett placed seventh with a time of 3:13.

The Track & Field team will head to Memphis Tenn. next weekend for the Memphis Invite.
