CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Southeast Missouri (4-10, 1-5) fell to Ohio Valley Conference leader Eastern Kentucky (13-6, 6-0) by a score of 7-0 Friday afternoon at the Redhawks Tennis Complex.
The Colonels remained unbeaten in league play with a 6-0 mark.
Heather Robinson, who saw a four-match winning streak come to an end, was the only Redhawk who won a set in singles play. Robinson dropped a three-set thriller to Milena Poffo, 6-1, 4-6, 10-8, at the No. 5 position.
Southeast had a strong showing in doubles play, losing by a point at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
Kristina Labeja and Melissa Gerritsen edged Nikole Novikova and Melissa Martin, 8-6, in No. 1 doubles, while Saioa Oscoz and Poffo slipped past Robinson and Jessica Courtnell, 8-7, at No. 2.
The Redhawks host Morehead State in their final home match of the season on Saturday at 11 a.m., CT.
