Tennis Secures Senior Day Victory

Southeast Missouri women's tennis rebounded from its last match and defeated Lindenwood 5-2 Monday afternoon on the team's senior day.
The Redhawks (8-14, 2-2 OVC) made a strong statement early by decisively capturing the doubles point. Kristina Kozakova and Sofia Zemtsova kicked things off at No. 2 doubles, overpowering Sofija Dunisijevic and Michelle Trochez, 6-1. Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova followed suit with a 6-3 triumph over Paola Garcia and Fabiana Labrador at No. 1 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match featuring Saskia Soome and Yontha Tadoum against Megan Caffin and Matthilde Humbert was unfinished, with SEMO leading 5-3.
In singles play, SEMO clinched the match winning at Nos. 2, 3, 5 and 6. Mayerova secured a 6-3, 6-3 win over Megan Caffin at No. 2 singles and Zemtsova dispatched Michelle Trochez 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3. Soome added to the Redhawks' tally with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 victory against Sofija Dunisijevic at No. 5 singles and Yontha Tadoum outlasted Matthilde Humbert 7-5, 6-4 at No. 6 singles
