DES MOINES, Iowa — Kristina Kozakova clinched the match as Southeast Missouri women's tennis team fought for a 4-3 victory over Drake Sunday.
SEMO got the match statyed securing the doubles point.
Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova stayed perfect as a duo winning 6-4 at No. 2 doubles to clinch the doubles point.
Yontha Tadoum and
Sofia Zemtsova picked up the first win of the session for SEMO winning 6-4 at No. 3.
In singles action, SEMO Kozakova clinched the match at No. 5 singles after Drake tied the match up 3-3 in comeback fashion. After falling in the first set 2-6, Kozakova bounced back to win the match 6-2, 7-5. Other singles winners for the Redhawks included Mayerova, who went 4-0 this weekend winning 6-2, 6-2 at No., 6 singles and
Juliette Demunck winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Coaches Thoughts
Today was a tough match. Drake was strong top to bottom; they were very competitive and really hungry today. They came out strong in singles and in doubles. It's good that we competed hard early in the season, it's bringing the team together and today reflected that. It was a great team win!
