Series History
Tennessee Tech holds a 39-21 lead in the all-time series against Southeast Missouri. TTU won the first game of this year's home-and-home series, 70-59, in Cookeville on Jan. 13. SEMO is 15-12 against the Golden Eagles at the Show Me Center. TTU lost in six of its last seven trips to Cape Girardeau.
Schedule Flip
The Redhawks completed January with a 2-6 record and 1-6 mark in Ohio Valley Conference play. Southeast Missouri played five of its eight games in January on the road. That's not the case in February, where SEMO will be at home for five of its eight games. The Redhawks are on a three-game home stand to begin the month hosting Western Illinois (Feb. 3), Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8) and Tennessee State (Feb. 10) over that period.
Last Time vs. Tennessee Tech
Josh Earley scored a career-high 20 points and Southeast Missouri dropped a 70-59 decision to Tennessee Tech on Jan. 13 in Cookeville. Earley scored 12 of his points in the second half. After Dylan Branson's two free throws pulled SEMO within two (56-54), the Golden Eagles used a 9-0 run to pull away for good. The Redhawks made just two field goals in the final eight minutes of the contest.
Where They Stand
Southeast Missouri and Tennessee Tech are tied at the bottom of the Ohio Valley Conference standings with identical 7-16 overall records. SEMO and TTU are both 2-8 in OVC play, as well. Both the Redhawks (66.5) and Golden Eagles (68.2) average under 70 points per game this season.
Looking to Get Back on TrackÂ
Southeast Missouri is looking to end a four-game losing skid. SEMO enters Thursday's contest after dropping six of its last seven matchups. The Redhawks picked up both of their January wins at home.
Second Half of OVC
The Redhawks started the second half of their Ohio Valley Conference schedule with a 76-55 home loss to Western Illinois (Feb. 3). Southeast Missouri hosts Tennessee Tech (Feb. 8), Tennessee State (Feb. 10), Little Rock (Feb. 22) and UT Martin (Feb. 24), and make trips to Eastern Illinois (Feb. 15), SIU Edwardsville (Feb. 17), Morehead State (Feb. 29) and Southern Indiana (Mar. 2) during the final eight games of league action.
Give it up for the Freshmen
Freshmen BJ Ward and Marqueas Bell each dropped in a season-high 11 points off the bench against Western Illinois (Feb. 3). For Ward and Bell, it was the first double-digit games of their college careers. Ward shot 5-of-9 from the field and Bell made three field goals to go along with a 4-of-6 showing at the free throw line.
3-Pointer Streak
As a team, Southeast Missouri has made at least one 3-pointer in 482 consecutive games. The last time SEMO did not make a 3-pointer was vs. Western Illinois (0-of-6) on Dec. 10, 2008. The Redhawks kept that streak alive when they made their only 3-pointer of the game with less than a second left at Lindenwood (Jan. 30).
