CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri men's basketball signed guard Fontaine Williams, Jr. Friday.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Williams, Jr. (6'2") led West Texas A&M University with 20.5 points per game en route to claiming Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region honors in 2025-26. A First-Team All-Lone Star Conference selection, he ranked 17
th nationally in total points (614), 12
th in free throws made (173) and 25
th in points per game.
Williams, Jr. shot 45.7 percent (190-of-416) from the field and made 41.5 percent (61-of-147) of his 3-pointers, while shooting 86.5 percent (173-of-200) at the free throw line. He also grabbed 60 rebounds, dished out 74 assists and collected 39 steals.
"Fontaine is bringing us a hyper competitive, productive lead guard that can score the ball at all three levels, initiate offense and create for others," said SEMO Head Coach
Brad Korn. "We look forward to getting the best out of him on and off the court through our solid foundation and current roster construction."
In 2024-25, Williams, Jr. appeared in 32 games and made six starts at Barton Community College. He shot 43.2 percent (123-of-285) from the floor and boasted a 44.7 percent clip (55-of-123) from beyond the arc. Williams, Jr. finished that season with 11.1 points per game 72 rebounds and 28 assists.
As a freshman, Williams, Jr. played in six games at Seward County Community College during the 2023-24 campaign.
"We feel Fontaine will be a very fluid addition as we continue to pursue a championship caliber program with graduates, great players and people," added Korn.
Williams, Jr. is the sixth transfer in SEMO's 2026-27 class. He joins Clayton Jewell (F, Darwin, Australia/Colorado Mesa), Alonzo Clawson-Smith (G, Lafayette, Ind./IU Kokomo), Marcus Eaves (G, Madisonville, Ky./John A. Logan College), Drew Cooper (F, West Monroe, La./Bossier Parish CC) and Darrion Sutton (F, St. Charles, Mo./Missouri State).
