The Show Me Center (SMC) is the home of the Southeast Missouri men’s and women’s basketball teams. It is also the entertainment and meeting hub for the 25O,OOO residents of the tristate region. A number of renovations have been made to the Show Me Center in recent years, including telescopic seating, a state of the art center-hung video board, sound and lighting systems, front meeting room space, improvements to parking areas, portable floors and goals. The facility first opened its doors in the Summer 1987 and celebrated its 25th Anniversary during the 2012-13 season. One of the best arenas in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Show Me Center has served SEMO, the City of Cape Girardeau, and the citizens of Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky by providing quality concerts, sporting events, top-notch family entertainment and first-rate banquet, convention and meeting space. The facility is a joint-venture of Southeast Missouri State University and the City of Cape Girardeau. The Show Me Center houses the Redhawks men’s and women’s locker rooms, which have been completely remodeled. New basketball offices on the north side of the facility were completed during Fall 2003. SEMO's Student Recreation Center is adjoined to the Show Me Center. It provides the basketball teams with adequate practice facilities. The Student Recreation Center also has a large weight room, racquetball courts, an indoor track, cardiovascular equipment areas, a climbing wall, acquatic center, multi-purpose rooms and locker rooms.
