CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri added guard Kycen Pruett to its 2026-27 men's basketball roster Tuesday.
 
Pruett (6'4"), who hails from Mount Dora, Florida, joins the Redhawks from NAIA member College of Coastal Georgia. 
 
During the 2025-26 season, he averaged 8.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13 games and 11 starts. Pruett also drained 29 three-pointers and dished out 18 assists for the Mariners. 
 
"We like the skill set that Kycen brings to our program," said SEMO Head Coach Brad Korn. "What we were looking for in character, work ethic and shooting ability at his size gives our roster what we needed. We look forward to developing his game on both sides of the ball and getting him acclimated to our championship environment."
 
Prior to Coastal Georgia, Pruett spent two seasons at Marshall University, where he saw action in a total of 17 games. He averaged 7.4 minutes per contest as a freshman in 2023-24 and five minutes per game the following year.
 
As a prep, Pruett averaged 22 points, five assists and five rebounds at Mount Dora Christian Academy. He was named the District Player of the Year, District Most Valuable Player and led his team to a district championship. Pruett earned All-Orlando team honors, as well.
 
Pruett is the seventh transfer in SEMO's 2026-27 class. 
 
He joins Fontaine Williams, Jr. (G, Wichita, Kan./West Texas A&M), Clayton Jewell (F, Darwin, Australia/Colorado Mesa), Alonzo Clawson-Smith (G, Lafayette, Ind./IU Kokomo), Marcus Eaves (G, Madisonville, Ky./John A. Logan College), Drew Cooper (F, West Monroe, La./Bossier Parish CC) and Darrion Sutton (F, St. Charles, Mo./Missouri State).
