Korn Closing in on 50 Wins
A win Saturday will mark the 50th of Brad Korn's head coaching career. Korn is 49-61 overall and 28-30 in the Ohio Valley Conference in his fourth year at the Southeast Missouri helm.
Last Time Out
Southeast Missouri fell to its second- straight Ohio Valley Conference loss in its first league road game of the season at Western Illinois (Jan. 4). SEMO outscored WIU, 35-32, in the second half. However, the Leathernecks made 12 free throws in the final 4:53 of the game to seal the win. The Redhawks were outscored at the free throw line by a count of 19-4.
Earley Scores Double Figures AgainÂ
Josh Earley led Southeast Missouri with 18 points for his second double-digit game of the season at Western Illinois (Jan. 4). Earley shot 9-of-14 from the field and led SEMO with five rebounds in 23 minutes. It was his first double-digit effort since he dropped in a season-high 19 vs. Central Arkansas (Nov. 20).
Nice OVC Debut
Rob Martin averaged 18.7 points per game in his first three career Ohio Valley Conference starts. Martin scored a career-high 29 points, dished out a career-best seven assists and buried a game-winning pullup jumper with 1.1 seconds left to key the Redhawks OVC opening victory over Southern Indiana (Dec. 29). Two days later, he scored 14 points against Morehead State (Dec. 31). Martin scored over 20 points for the second time this season in his first career OVC start versus USI. Most recently, he finished with 13 points at Western Illinois (Jan. 4). Martin ranks seventh in the OVC in scoring during league play this year.
