Track & Field Continue Great Start on Day Two of OVC Championships

EDWARDSVILLE, - Ind. - Southeast Missouri Track & Field had another successful day at the OVC Championships with 13 new PR's being set. The Redhawks also finished with two first place finishes and five top-three performances. 
 
After day two of the outdoor championships the men's team is in first with 124 total points ahead of Little Rock with 54 total points. The women's team is also in first with 87 points, 34 points ahead of Little Rock in second.
 
Day three of the OVC championships will start at 11:00 a.m. CT. with the men's shot put. The awards presentation is scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m.
 
Personal Bests Coming In
Clay Alewelt recorded a new PR in the hammer throw with a mark of 200' 11" (61.24m) placing fourth. 
 
Clara Billing and Megan Aubuchon are both headed to the finals in the 100-meter hurdles and they both recorded new PR's. Billing ran a time of 14.31 and Aubuchon had a time of 14.42.  
 
Leanza Dwaah qualified for the finals in the women's 100-meter with a dash of 11.85 which was fast enough for a new PR. 
 
In the men's 800-meter Mark Crawford earned a new PR and qualified for the finals with a time of 1:53.52. 
 
In the 800-meter Erika Mellor recorded a new personal best and she is headed to the finals with a time of 2:13.78. 
 
Winner, Winner
Parker Feuerborn threw for 214' 2" (65.27m) in the men's hammer throw claiming the top spot on the podium. 
 
Luke Hatfield-Jackson grabbed the gold medal in the men's long jump. Hatfield-Jackson got to the distance of 26' 2.25" (7.98m). 
 
Podium Finishes
The Redhawk pair of Marshall Swadley and Dylan Clark competed in the men's hammer throw placing second and third. Swadley threw for 203' 10" (62.12m) and Clark 201' 3" (61.34m).
 
Makenzie Williams picked up the silver medal in the hammer throw with a mark of 187' 4" (57.09m).
 
Notable Achievements
Serena Williams placed eighth in the women's long jump getting to the distance of 18' 7.25" (5.67m).
 
Megan Deimeke threw for a distance of 170' 9" (52.05m) placing fourth in the hammer throw.
 
Headed to the Finals
Connor Moore and Brendan Parham qualified for the finals in the men's 400-meter. Moore crossed the line at 48.43 and Parham ran a time of 48.45. 
 
In the women's 400-meters, Breanna Miles is headed to the finals with a time of 55.89. 
 
In the men's 800-meters, Terrico Garrett and Justin Splitt both qualified for the finals. Garrett ran a time of 1:54.02 and Splitt had a time of 1:54.69. 
 
Katie Wegmann ran a time of 2:12.20 and Taylor Fox crossed the finish line in 2:12.99 in the women's 800-meter.   
 
Deca - Hepta Day 2
After all seven events in the heptathlon all the Redhawks competing landed in the top five. Anna Thomason came in second and recorded a new PR with 4760 total points. Kaitlyn McGinnitey landed in third with 4473 points. Tayler Gudde finished in fourth with 4364 points and a New Personal best.
 
Jon Bissell and Isaac Readnour took third and fourth in the Decathlon. Bissell finished with a total of 6262 and Readnour finished with 6180.
 
In the decathlon 110-meter hurdles Isaac Readnour and Jon Bissell both got a new PR. Readnour placed second and ran a time of 15.69 and Bissell crossed the line at 16.02 placing third.
 
Isaac Readnour cleared the height of 14' 3.25" (4.35m) and Jon Bissell had a vault of 13' 7.5" (4.15m) in the pole vault. 
 
The heptathlon 800-meters saw Tayler Gudde, Anna Thomason, and Kaitlyn McGinnitey place first, third, and fourth. Gudde ran a time of 2:20.81, Thomason had a time of 2:30.42 which was a new personal best, and Mcginnitey ran a time of 2:31.29. 
 
In the decathlon discus throw, Jon Bissell and Isaac Readnour placed fourth and fifth. Bissell threw for 112' 7" (34.31m) and Readnour had a throw of 97' 9" (29.79m). 
 
In the women's heptathlon long jump Anna Thomason finished in second with a new PR 17' 7" (5.36m), Kaitlyn Mcginnitey placed third 17' 3.5" (5.27m), and Tayler Gudde placed fourth 17' 0.75" (5.20m). 
 
Tayler Gudde, Kaitlyn Mcginnitey, and Anna Thomason all recorded new PRs in the heptathlon javelin throw. Gudde finished first with a throw of 119' 5" (36.39m), Mcginnitey placed second with a mark of 96' 6" (29.42m), and Thomason got third place 95' 11" (29.23m). 
 
In the javelin throw Isaac Readnour placed third with a throw of 146' 2" (44.54m) and Jon Bissell finished in fourth place with a mark of 143' 8" (43.79m). 
 
Jon Bissell and Isaac Readnour placed fourth and sixth in the 1500-meter. Bissell ran a time of 5:08.17 and Readnour crossed the line at 5:10.76.
