CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Parker Feureborn set another Southeast Missouri State School record in the weight throw as the Redhawks had 11 first place finishes and four new PR's set. SEMO also had 34 top three performances to conclude the Redhawks Open.
Another Record Broken
Parker Feuerborn finished the men's weight throw in first place and achieved a new SEMO record. The graduate student out of St. Michael, Minnesota threw for a 71-11.75 (21.94m) mark breaking his own record he set Jan. 20, when he achieved a 71' 8.75" (21.86m). The throw puts him at 15th in the nation.
New Personal Bests Coming In
In the women's weight throw junior
Makenzie Williams set a new PR with a throw of 58-11.25 (17.96m) while placing third in the event.
Ballie Hux also set a PR in the event with a throw of 56-05.25 (17.20m).
In the Women's long jump Kaitlyn McGinnity and Taylor Gudde both set new personal bests. McGinnity finished in first place with a jump of 18-00.25 (5.49m) while Gudde placed fifth 16-10.75 (5.15m).
At top the Podium
The Redhawks pair of
Colin Beers and
Tanner Koontz tied for the top spot in the pole vault. They both cleared a height of 14-10.75 (4.54m).
For the women's pole vault Redhawks'
Clara Billing finished first (12-03.50, 3.75m).
In Men's Long jump Luke Hatfield Jackson finished on top of the podium with a jump of 24-06.50 (7.48m). Hatfield Jackson also picked up another first-place finish in the high jump 6-08.75 (2.05m).
Anna Thomason placed first in the women's triple jump, jumping for a 35-00.25 (10.67m) mark.
For the men's 55-meter dash
Luke Collins took home the Gold Medal with a 6.68 dash.
Aaron Modrow placed first in the men's mile, crossing the finish line at 4:29.89.
In the women's mile Southeast Missouri's MacKenzie Pugh placed first with a run of 5:28.09.
For the men's 400-meter dash SEMO's
Xzavier Bartlett tailed a first-place finish in the event with a run of 53.17.
Notable Performances
Issac Readnour placed third in the pole vault with a vault of 13-05.00 (4.09m).
In women's pole vault Nicole Sliverlake placed second (11-03.75, 3.45m), Skyler Prescott third (10-10.00, 3.30m).
Dylan Clark finished behind fellow teammate in second with a throw of 67-00.00 (20.42m) and in third
Marshall Swadley throwing for a 60-07.25 (18.47m) mark.
In the Women's Shot-put Bailie Hux placed third with a mark of 43-03.25 (13.19m).
For the men's shot put SEMO's
Marshall Swadley placed second in the event with a throw of 55-07.75 (16.96m), while teammate
Dylan Clark tailed right behind him in third throwing 52-07.50 (16.04m).
Todjai Ross finished in second place 17-11.50 (5.47m) and Kendall Howleg placed third 17-00.00 (5.18m) in the long jump.
In the men's triple jump event Chris Johnson placed second with a jump of 44-08.00 (13.61m).
The Women's triple jump saw
Sophie Dubis record a third-place finish with a jump of 33-10.00 (10.31m).
In the women's high jump
Sophie Dubis jumped for 5-01.00 (1.55m) mark, she ended up tying with teammates
Anna Thomason and
Serena Williams in the event for a second-place finish.
In the women's 55-meter dash, Southeast Missouri's
Sandrea Cogio finished in second for the event with a 7.54 run.
In the men's 55-meter dash, coming in third for the event
Xzavier Bartlett ran for a 6.96 for Southeast Missouri.
In the men's mile,
Jacob Blassingame took second and Louis Primeau finished third. Blassingame ran a time of 4:32.61 while Primeau crossed the line at 4:35.40.
For the women's mile teammates
Kayla Vogelsang in second with a finish of 5:29.37. In third place for the event
Alayna Sparr ran a 5:31.26.
Mason Clough tailed a third-place finish in the men's high jump with a score of 6-00.75 (1.85m).
Looking Ahead
The Southeast Missouri Track and Field team will head to Birmingham, Alabama next week to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships. The championship event will take place over the span of two days beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 22 and concluding on Thursday, Feb. 23.
