Southeast Missouri leads its all-time series against Morehead State, 35-20. SEMO ended a six-game losing streak in its series with a 92-84 win in Morehead last season.
OVC Single-Game High
Southeast Missouri shot an Ohio Valley Conference single-game high 63.6 percent (35-of-55) from the field in its 94-21 win over Lindenwood (Jan. 12). It is the best field goal percentage in three years under Head Coach Brad Korn. SEMO last shot over 60 percent in a OVC game vs. Tennessee Tech on Jan. 10, 2017.

Southeast Missouri has a winning record in Ohio Valley Conference play for the first time this season following its recent 94-71 win over Lindenwood (Jan. 12). SEMO enters the weekend with a 3-2 record against league foes. Morehead State is also 3-2 after its loss to Tennessee Tech Thursday.

Southeast Missouri leads the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring (82.6 ppg), field goal percentage (.473), assists (16.2 apg), turnover margin (+3.6) and assist/ turnover ratio (1.4) in league games. SEMO scored over 80 points in four of its first five OVC contests.
Two-Game Streak
Southeast Missouri carries a two-game winning streak to Morehead State. SEMO is coming off a 74-68 road win at Little Rock (Jan. 7) and 94-71 home victory over Lindenwood (Jan. 12). The Redhawks won consecutive games for the second time this season and first since late November One more victory and SEMO will match its longest winning streak of the season (3 games, Nov. 7-16).
Barnes Nabs Game-High
Israel Barnes scored a game-high 20 points in his latest effort vs. Lindenwood (Jan. 12). Barnes came off the bench to shoot 9-of-12 from the field in 29 minutes. He scored 13 of his points in the first half alone. Barnes scored 20 or more points for the fourth time this season.
Harris is Rolling
Chris Harris moved to second on the team in scoring after pitching in 14 points vs. SIU Edwardsville (Dec. 31). Harris is now averaging 12.9 points per game through 17 games and 15 starts. He scored double figures in each of his last eight contests and leads the Redhawks with 47 career double-digit scoring games.
10 or More 3-Pointers
The Redhawks matched a season-high 13 three-pointers in their 87-82 loss to UT Martin (Jan. 5). Southeast Missouri has made 10 or more 3-pointers in six games this year. SEMO is second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 156 threes through 18 games.
OVC Update
Southeast Missouri and Morehead State are in a four-way tie for second in the Ohio Valley Conference standings heading into their matchup. SEMO, MSU, UT Martin and Tennessee Tech all have 3-2 records. SIU Edwardsville is ahead in first with a 4-1 mark. The Redhawks gave the Cougars their only league loss thus far.
3-Pointer Streaks
Chris Harris has made a 3-pointer in 19-straight games dating back to the 2021-22 season. Phillip Russell drained a 3-pointer in 18-straight contests. Russell leads Southeast Missouri with 42 three-pointers, while Harris follows with 33. Russell and Harris have accounted for 48 percent of SEMO's 156 threes this year.
Starting Streak
Second-year point guard Phillip Russell has started 29 consecutive games. Russell missed only two starts since joining the Redhawks due to COVID protocols during the 2021-22 campaign. He has 48 career starts and is one of two Redhawks that started all 18 games this year.
