Series History
Jacksonville State leads its all-time series against Southeast Missouri by a count of 16-6. JSU has won four-straight games and six of the last eight meetings in the series. The Gamecocks beat the Redhawks by double figures each of the last four times they faced each other.

Looking Ahead
After Saturday's game, the Redhawks hit the road for four-straight contests. Southeast Missouri makes trips to UT Martin (Feb. 14), Eastern Illinois (Feb. 16), Austin Peay (Feb. 21) and Murray State (Feb. 23) during its longest road stretch of the season.

McGlothan Goes Off
Freshman forward Gabe McGlothan scored a career-high 27 points and pulled down 16 rebounds for his team-high second double-double of the season in Southeast Missouri's 71-66 overtime win over Tennessee Tech Thursday. McGlothan buried a jumper to send the game to overtime with two seconds left in regulation. McGlothan shot 10-of-14 from the field, knocked down two 3-pointers and went 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He also added two blocks, a steal and four dunks. McGlothan's thunderous putback dunk off a missed layup by Isaiah Gable with 48 seconds in overtime gave SEMO a four-point lead and the Redhawks never looked back.

Third OVC Win
Southeast Missouri recorded its third Ohio Valley Conference win and eighth victory overall when it overcame a 10-point deficit to beat Tennessee Tech, 71-66, in overtime on Feb. 7. All three of the Redhawks conference wins have come at the Show Me Center this season. SEMO overcame double-digit deficits and won in overtime during two of those victories.

Rebounding Machine
For the third time in five games, Gabe McGlothan reached double figures in the rebound column when he grabbed 16 vs. TennesseeTech (Feb. 7). The 16 rebounds matched a season-high as McGlothan also hit that mark vs. SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 24). He now leads the team with six rebounds per game.

New Lineup
Southeast Missouri started three freshmen for the first time this season when Nygal Russell, Gabe McGlothan and Sage Tolbert joined Ledarrius Brewer and Jonathan Dalton in the starting five vs. Tennessee Tech (Feb. 7). It was the seventh different starting lineup combination for the Redhawks. Russell (10 pts.) and McGlothan (27 pts, 16 reb.) each scored double figures against the Golden Eagles.

Approaching 300 Assists
Point guard Jonathan Dalton is just six assists away from reaching 300 in his career. Dalton enters Saturday's game with 394 career assists and a team-high 85 dishes this season.

Nice Run Down the Stretch
Southeast Missouri trailed, 51-44, with 4:35 left in regulation when it rattled off 10-straight points to take the lead against Tennessee Tech (Feb. 7). Nygal Russell scored a layup on back-to-back possessions to put SEMO ahead, 54-51, with 2:33 remaining. That surge eventually led to Gabe McGlothan sending the game to overtime. The Redhawks and Golden Eagles went back-and-forth in a game that featured seven ties and 11 lead changes.

Draining 3s
The Redhawks matched a season-high 14 three-pointers at Florida State (Dec. 17). Southeast Missouri shot 14-of-37 behind the arc with seven treys in each half. SEMO made 11 or more 3-pointers in nine contests. The Redhawks are averaging 8.7 three-point field goals made per game.

More from the Arc
Southeast Missouri ranks third in the Ohio Valley Conference in 3-pointers made through 24 games this season. The Redhawks drained 203 three-pointers in 576 attempts.

Defending the Three
The Redhawks rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 30th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting 30.1 percent from beyond the arc against Southeast Missouri this year. Murray State leads the OVC with a .284 three-point field goal percentage defense.

About Jacksonville State
Jacksonville State (8-3), which is behind a three-way tie for first between Belmont (9-2), Murray State (9-2) and Austin Peay (9-2) in the Ohio Valley Conference standings, comes to Cape Girardeau on a two-game losing streak. The Gamecocks suffered those two losses by a combined five points dropping a 74-71 decision to Austin Peay (Feb. 2) and a 66-64 setback at last place UT Martin (Feb. 7). JSU leads the OVC in scoring defense (67.5 ppg allowed), field goal percentage defense (.407), rebounding defense (33.8 rpg) and rebounding margin (+5.3). Jason Burnell leads four Gamecocks averaging double figures in the scoring column with 15.1 points per game overall and 16.5 points per contest in OVC play.
