Series History
Southeast Missouri leads its all-time series against Murray State, 58-56-1. The last meeting between these teams was at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament on May 26, 2017. The Redhawks defeated the Racers, 8-5, at Choccolocco Field in Oxford, Alabama. Â SEMO has won three of the last-four series against MSU. In addition, the Redhawks have a total of 19 series wins against the Racers.Â

Southeast is currently 11-7 in the Ohio Valley Conference and has won four of its six conference series this season. The Redhawks presently stand tied for third in the league standings behind Tennessee Tech (17-1) and Morehead State (11-4).Â

Go Green Games
In the month of April, Southeast is partnering with Mid-America Transplant to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donations. The team will wear special green jerseys for every midweek game in the month of April. The Redhawks will also have the "Green Up" game Saturday (Apr. 21) with more events and information about ways to donate. More information can be found at GoSoutheast.com.
Free Tailgate
Friday's game features a FREE tailgate. Bank of Missouri will sponsor the food while Kohlfeld will sponsor the beverages. The tailgate begins at 6 p.m. and will be along the first base side behind the stands.Â
Vega Named OVC Co-Pitcher of the Week
Carlos Vega was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week on Apr. 16. Vega did not allow an earned run and struck out nine in nine innings. He retired 12 of the final 16 hitters he faced in his win against Jacksonville State (Apr. 14). Vega boasts a 1.64 ERA, currently the lowest in the OVC.Â
SEMO in the OVC
Southeast dropped its second conference series of the season at Jacksonville State (Apr. 13-14). SEMO's other series loss in league play came at Austin Peay. Southeast has won the other four series which includes a sweep of SIU Edwardsville.
Midweek Play
Southeast snapped a six-game losing streak in midweek games when it beat Saint Louis, 4-2, on Apr. 4. It was the Redhawks first midweek win of the season. Chase Urhahn had one RBI on three hits, including two doubles. Nathan Bock recorded his first career win on the mound. Southeast continued the trend with a 15-0 win over McKendree (Apr. 10) and 10-8 victory over Saint Louis (Apr. 17) at Capaha Field. SEMO defeated SLU for the second time this year.
Hot Bats
The Redhawks have 365 hits and 229 RBI in 2018. Southeast averages over six runs a game on just under 10 hits. Trevor Ezell leads the team with 57 hits, which rank third in the Ohio Valley Conference. Â Justin Dirden leads the Redhawks with 45 RBI this season. Southeast has 74 doubles and 32 home runs, as well.
Ranked in the OVC
Southeast ranks second in the Ohio Valley Conference in hit by pitch (45 ). The Redhawks are second with a 4.76 ERA, just behind Jacksonville State (4.60). SEMO leads the OVC with a league-low 24 home runs allowed and boasts a conference best .973 fielding percentage.Â
Individuals: Trevor Ezell is sixth in the conference with a .383 batting average and is third with 57 hits. He is in a three-way tie for first with three triples. Justin Dirden is fourth with a .679 slugging percentage. Chase Urhahn is tied for second with 16 doubles. Peyton Faulkner is currently in a tie for third in hit by pitch (10). Carlos Vega leads the conference with a 1.64 ERA and has allowed a OVC low 13 runs. Vega has not let up a single home run this season and is tied for first with only nine earned runs allowed. Daniel Bergtholdt is now in ninth with three saves this season.Â
Home Run Count
Southeast has 32 home runs and ranks sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference this season. The Redhawks hit a home run in 20 games this year. Justin Dirden leads the team with nine round-trippers. The Redhawks had a season-high four home runs at Austin Peay (Mar. 31). Â
