Redhawks Wrap Up Non-Conference
Southeast Missouri (5-7) wraps up its non-conference schedule when it hosts Abilene Christian (9-2) Friday. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.

Series History
Southeast Missouri owns a 3-0 lead in its all-time series against Southland Conference member Abilene Christian. All three of those matchups were played when SEMO was an NCAA Division II school. The Redhawks and Wildcats last met 33 years ago in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional. SEMO won that game, 94-72, on Mar. 7, 1986 in Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks finished as the NCAA Division II national runner-up after coming up short in a 93-87 loss to Sacred Heart in the title game that year.

Non-Conference Finale
The Redhawks look to end non-conference play with a victory for the third time in four years under head coach Rick Ray. Southeast Missouri wrapped up non-league action with a 94-84 win over Harris-Stowe on Dec. 27, 2015 and an 89-75 victory over Henderson State on Dec. 29. 2016.

Merry Christmas
Friday's matchup with Abilene Christian is Southeast Missouri's final game before the Christmas holiday. The Redhawks will take a 12-day break before opening their 18-game Ohio Valley Conference slate at SIU Edwardsville on Jan. 3. 

Looking to Regroup
The Redhawks are looking to snap a three-game losing streak Friday. Southeast Missouri is 1-4 in December with its lone win of the month coming at Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 4 (77-57).

Strong Showing in Tallahassee
Southeast Missouri led #10 Florida State for almost 22 minutes in its 85-68 loss on Dec. 17. SEMO led by double figures twice when a Gabe McGlothan layup gave the Redhawks an 18-8 advantage and a Skyler Hogan 3-pointer put SEMO ahead, 21-10, in the first half. 

Draining 3s
The Redhawks matched a season-high 14 three-pointers at Florida State (Dec. 17). SEMO shot 14-of-37 behind the arc with seven treys in each half. Skyler Hogan paved the way with four 3-pointers made marking the second time he has made four or more threes in a game this year.

Southeast Missouri leads the Ohio Valley Conference in 3-pointers made and 3-pointers attempted through 12 games this season. The Redhawks drained 114 three-pointers in 329 attempts. In the last three games alone, SEMO shot an average of 35.6 threes per contest. The Redhawks rank 17th in the nation in 3-point field goal attempts and 24th in 3-point field goals made.

Brewer Nets Season-High
Ledarrius Brewer resumed his position as Southeast Missouri's top scorer this season following a season-high 24-point performance at The Citadel (Dec. 15). Brewer shot 9-of-17 from the field and knocked down a season-best 5-of-10 three-pointers against the Bulldogs. He also dished out two assists and had a pair of blocks. Brewer leads the team with 13.4 points per game.

Hogan Shines
Guard Skyler Hogan is Southeast Missouri's second-leading scorer with 12.5 points a game. Hogan tops the Redhawks with 26 three-pointers made and is SEMO's best free throw shooter with a 92.3 percent clip. He scored double figures in eight of his previous 10 contests. Additionally, Hogan buried multiple 3-pointers in each of his last six games.

OVC Play is Next 
Southeast Missouri officially begins its 18-game Ohio Valley Conference slate at SIU Edwardsville on Jan. 3. The Redhawks were picked to finish ninth in this year's OVC Preseason Poll. Belmont was tabbed the preseason-favorite and is currently 9-1 this year.

Defending the Three
Southeast Missouri enters the weekend ranked 22nd in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense. Opponents are shooting 28 percent against the Redhawks from behind the arc. The Redhawks rank third in the Ohio Valley Conference behind Murray State (21.6 percent) and Austin Peay (27.8 percent) in that category. 

Brewer On a Roll
After scoring five points or less in two-straight games, Ledarrius Brewer averaged 19 per contest in his last three starts. Brewer shot 46.6 percent (21-of-45) from the field, buried nine 3-pointers, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out six assists and had four steals in that span. 

Home Record
Southeast Missouri is 2-2 at home this season. Both of those wins came against non-Division I opponents. SEMO beat Quincy, 102-66, on Nov. 12 and Missouri S&T, 72-69, on Nov. 27. The Redhawks lost to Western Illinois, 70-63, on Dec. 1 and Southern Illinois, 83-73, on Dec. 8.

About Abilene Christian
Abilene Christian comes to Cape Girardeau with a 9-2 record this season. ACU leads the Southland Conference in scoring (77.2 ppg), scoring defense (63.3 ppg allowed), scoring margin (+13.9), 3-point field goal percentage (41.4), rebounding defense (29.1 rpg), turnover margin (+5.2) and assist/turnover ratio (1.39). Jaren Lewis leads the Wildcats with 14.6 points per game as one of three players averaging double figures in the scoring column. Payten Ricks leads the team with 27 steals and is 19th in the nation with 2.45 per game. ACU is ninth nationally in 3-point field goal percentage and 11th in turnover margin.

Against the Southland Conference
Southeast Missouri is 20-8 all-time against Southland Conference schools. That includes a 9-6 record vs. Central Arkansas, a 0-1 record vs. Nicholls State, a 6-0 mark vs. Southeastern Louisiana, a 2-0 record vs. Texas-Arlington, a 2-0 record vs. New Orleans and a 1-1 mark vs. McNeese State. 

On the Way to 100
Ledarrius Brewer is making his way closer to the 100 mark in career free throws and 3-pointers made. Brewer has drained 94 three-pointers and 92 free throws through 43 games and 39 starts as a Redhawk.

Starting Streak
Ledarrius Brewer has started 38-consecutive games dating back to last season. Brewer has scored in 32-straight starts. He also pitched in double figures in 28 of his last 33 contests. Meanwhile, Jonathan Dalton started 39-consecutive games at point guard.

Free Throw Margin
Southeast Missouri has been outscored at the free throw line in 10 of its first 12 games this season. In the last six games alone, opponents held a 95-34 advantage at the free throw line. SEMO is attempting 13.5 free throws per game, fewest in the Ohio Valley Conference of the teams that have played 10 or more games.

Ledarrius Brewer ranks among Ohio Valley Conference leaders in scoring (13th, 13.4 ppg), rebounding (17th, 5.6 ppg), defensive rebounds (11th, 5.0 rpg), 3-point field goals made (9th, 1.9) and minutes played (27th, 27.8 mpg). Sage Tolbert is 13th in the conference in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and 11th in offensive rebounds (2.3 rpg). Alex Caldwell ranks 11th in 3-point field goal percentage (.391) and Jonathan Dalton is sixth in assists (3.6 apg) and eighth in assist/turnover ratio (1.6). Skyler Hogan ranks 18th in scoring (12.5 ppg), fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.448) and eighth in 3-point field goals made (2.2 per game).
