Redhawks Return HomeÂ
Southeast Missouri (2-3) opens a brief two-game homestand when it hosts North Carolina Central (2-5) Sunday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.

Closing November
Southeast closes out the month of November with two games in three days. After the Redhawks host North Carolina Central Sunday, they welcome NAIA member Hannibal-LaGrange Tuesday. Southeast played away from home each of its last four contests.
Series History
Southeast and North Carolina Central open a home-and-home series in Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks will travel to Durham, N.C. to face the Eagles on Dec. 2. Sunday marks the second meeting between these teams. Southeast and North Carolina Central last met in the NCAA Division II National Championship game on Mar. 25, 1989. The Eagles won that game by a score of 73-46 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Redhawks went 27-6 overall en route to finishing second in the nation that year.
Cancun Challenge Recap
The Redhawks went 1-3 in this year's Cancun Challenge. Southeast dropped a 96-95 overtime decision at Louisiana Tech (Nov. 13) and fell to Evansville (Nov. 16), 66-50, on the road stateside. The Redhawks advanced to the Mayan Division title game with a 74-59 win over Cal State Northridge (Nov. 21) and rounded out the event with a 88-82 loss to Montana State (Nov. 22) in Cancun, Mexico.Â
Mahoney and Brewer Earn All-Tournament Honors
Sophomore Denzel Mahoney and freshman Ledarrius Brewer were named to the Mayan Division Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team. Mahoney averaged 18.3 points, six rebounds and shot 56.3 percent (27-of-48) from the field in four games. He also scored 18 or more points three times in the tournament, including a season-high 27 against Montana State (Nov. 22). Brewer followed with 14.3 points per game and made a team-high 11 three-pointers during the four-game stretch.Â
Mileage Log
The Redhawks travelled a total of 5,891 miles between air and ground transportation over the last two weeks. Southeast made stops to St. Louis, Missouri, Dallas, Texas, Monroe, Louisiana, Ruston, Louisiana, Evansville, Indiana, Cancun, Mexico and New Orleans, Louisiana during its lengthy trip.
Season-Best Shooting
Southeast shot a season-high 56.9 percent from the field in its 88-82 loss to Montana State (Nov. 22). The Redhawks made 29-of-51 shots and scored 20 of their points at the free throw line. It was the second time Southeast shot 50 percent or better from the floor this year. The Redhawks 82 points were also second-most in a game this season, marking the third time they scored 80 or more in five contests.
Redhawks Drain 10 Threes
The Redhawks buried a season-high 10 three-pointers in their 74-59 win over Cal State Northridge (Nov. 21). Freshman Ledarrius Brewer paved the way with four threes, while Denzel Mahoney and Ray Kowalski each followed with two. The Redhawks last made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game vs. Murray State (12-of-24) on Feb. 23, 2017.
Tournament Play
Southeast picked up its first win in tournament play under head coach Rick Ray when it beat Cal State Northridge, 74-59, at the Cancun Challenge on Nov. 21. The Redhawks finished the Cancun Challenge with a 1-3Â mark.Â
OVC Rankings
The Redhawks rank among the top five in the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring offense (5th, 76.4 ppg), free throw percentage (4th, .765), field goal percentage (4th, .481), rebounding defense (2nd, 31.4 rpg), assists (t5th, 14.8 apg), assist/turnover ratio (5th, 1.1) and defensive rebound percentage (4th, .743). Individually, Denzel Mahoney rates fourth in scoring (18.8 ppg) and eighth in free throw percentage (.867), Justin Carpenter is fourth in field goal percentage (.654), Jonathan Dalton is third in assists (6.0 apg) and third in assist/turnover ratio (2.5), Ledarrius Brewer is tied for seventh in 3-point field goals made (2.8 per game) and tied for 15th in blocked shots (0.8 per game), and Mark Laros is tied for ninth in blocks (1.0).

Point guard Jonathan Dalton enters Sunday's game ranked 26th in the nation in assists per game (6.0) and 27th in total assists (30). Great Start
Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference guard/forward Denzel Mahoney started his 2017-18 season scoring over 20 points in three of his first five starts. Mahoney is coming off a season-high 27-point performance vs. Montana State (Nov. 22). He averaged 22.5 points per game in his last two starts alone.
Home Cooking
Southeast won eight of its last 10 games at the Show Me Center. The Redhawks went 10-4 overall and 6-2 in Ohio Valley Conference play on their homecourt last season. It was Southeast's best home record since 2011-12 (10-4). The Redhawks are 14-14 at home under head coach Rick Ray.
