Suits and Sneakers Week
The Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers Week, January 23-29, 2017, is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise awareness about the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission, and promote the American Cancer Society as a place for help and support. While coaching games during the week, coaches wear sneakers with their game attire as a visible reminder about the importance of nutrition and physical activity in reducing cancer risk. Southeast head coach Rick Ray and his staff will participate in this year's great cause.

Series History
Rivals Southeast and Murray State hook up for the 74th time Thursday. MSU holds a 59-14 lead in the all-time series and is 41-8 against the Redhawks in Southeast's NCAA Division I era (since 1991-92). The Racers won 16 of the last 19 meetings in the series.

At the CFSB Center
Southeast has won more than any opponent at the CFSB Center. The Redhawks have five victories on the Racers homecourt, winning on Jan. 15, 2000 (84-78), Feb. 5, 2005 (61-58), Mar. 1, 2005 (61-58), Jan. 8, 2007 (96-85) and Mar. 2, 2013 (84-68). Southeast is 5-14 all-time at the CFSB Center.

OVC West Showdown
The Redhawks, currently tied for second in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division, meet divisional leader Murray State Thursday. The Redhawks (4-3) are a game behind the Racers (5-2) and share second place with UT Martin (4-3) in the OVC West Division standings.

Shooting the Three
Southeast has made 171 three-pointers, attempted 472 threes and is shooting 36.2 percent from beyond the arc this season. The 2016-17 Redhawks are getting ready to crack the top 10 teams in school history in each of those categories. Currently, the No. 10 marks are 201 three-point field goals made held by the 2005-06 and 2003-04 teams; 529 three-pointers attempted held by the 2002-03 team; and 36.5 percent from 3-point range held by the 1993-94 squad.

Redhawks Heating Up
The Redhawks are on a two-game winning streak for the third time this season and have heated up to win five of their last eight contests. Southeast is presently 3-3 in January and looks to finish the month on a positive note when it hits the road this week.

Minus Two
Southeast was without starting point guard Jamaal Calvin and forward William Tchiengang its last two games. Calvin was sidelined with a sprained right foot and Tchiengang was out due to eligibility reasons. The return for Calvin  and Tchiengang is undetermined at this time.

Back-to-Back OVC Freshman of the Week
Guard Denzel Mahoney was named adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week on Jan. 16 and Jan. 23. A native of Oviedo, Florida, Mahoney averaged 16.5 points, four rebounds and two assists in two games last week. He shot 50 percent (7-of-14) from the field, 62.5 percent (5-of-8) from 3-point range and was a perfect 14-of-14 at the free throw line. Mahoney opened that week with 10 points, two rebounds and an assist in a home victory over Tennessee Tech. Two days later, he scored a season-high 23 points, made three 3-pointers and buried 12-of-12 free throws at UT Martin. Mahoney secured his second-straight OVC Freshman of the Week honor after averaging a team-high 14.5 points per game to go along with five rebounds and one assist per contest. He shot 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the field, 50 percent (4-of-8) from 3-point range and 90 percent (9-of-10) at the free throw line. Mahoney reached the 20-point plateau for the third time this season with 20 points against SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 19). He then added nine points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in the Redhawks victory over Eastern Illinois (Jan. 21). Mahoney shared this week's award with Eastern Kentucky guard Asante Gist.

Kellum Nabs Double-Double
Senior Trey Kellum turned in his first double-double of the season and second of his career when he scored 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds vs. Eastern Illinois (Jan. 21). Kellum scored 14 of his points in the second half of that game. He averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds in his last two starts, helping lift Southeast to a pair of wins last week.

Nice Shooting
Southeast currently leads the Ohio Valley Conference in 3-point field goal percentage with a 40.1 percent clip in league games. The Redhawks made 55-of-137 threes through their first seven OVC contests. Southeast was last in that category with a .301 three-point field goal percentage in conference play a year ago. Additionally, Southeast enters the week ranked second in field goal percentage (.493) to Belmont (.512) in league only games.

Speaking of Long Range
Senior Antonius Cleveland is the Ohio Valley Conference leader in 3-point field goal percentage through seven league games. Cleveland is shooting 57.1 percent (8-of-14) from downtown in conference play.

Next Up for Cleveland
Antonius Cleveland needs just 10 more points to establish a new career-high for points in a season. Cleveland scored 394 points in 26 games and 25 starts during the 2015-16 campaign. He is well on pace to surpass that total standing with 385 points in 22 starts this season.

Enter Freshman Tahj Eaddy
Freshman Tahj Eaddy started the last two games at point guard for the injured Jamaal Calvin. Eaddy made his first career start at vs. SIU Edwardsville (Jan. 19), scoring 13 points and sinking a perfect 6-of-6 free throws in 29 minutes. Two days later, he dropped in a season-high 15 points on 6-of-9 field goals vs. Eastern Illinois (Jan. 21). Eaddy is second in free throw percentage at .941 (16-of-17) in conference games alone. The Redhawks are 2-0 with Eaddy in the starting lineup.

Conference Wins
Southeast picked up its fourth Ohio Valley Conference win when it beat Eastern Illinois, 83-71, on Jan. 21. With that victory, the Redhawks doubled their conference win total from last season (2-14).

Ray Against the OVC
Rick Ray has at least one win against five of the Ohio Valley Conference schools, including SIU Edwardsville (2-1), Eastern Illinois (1-2), Tennessee Tech (1-1), UT Martin (1-2) and Eastern Kentucky (1-1). The other six league teams Ray has yet to beat include Murray State (0-2), Austin Peay (0-2), Morehead State (0-1), Jacksonville State (0-1), Belmont (0-2) and Tennessee State (0-2). Ray is 6-17 all-time in the OVC with four of those victories coming this season.

Last Time Out
Antonius Cleveland scored a team-high 18 points and Trey Kellum added a double-double 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead Southeast to an 83-72 win over Eastern Illinois (Jan. 21). The Redhawks won their fifth in a row at home and improved to 8-2 at the Show Me Center this season. EIU entered the game averaging a league low 12.5 turnovers per game. Southeast forced the Panthers into 18 turnovers and scored 24 points off those mishaps.

Road Woes
The Redhawks are 1-11 on the road and have dropped 10-straight games outside of Cape Girardeau. Southeast's nine true road losses tie for most in the league.
