A Look at What's Ahead
It's back to the Show Me Center for the Redhawks for games against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 21 and Murray State on Wednesday, Jan. 25. Southeast will close the month of January at Austin Peay on Jan. 28.

Series History
Southeast Missouri leads the all-time series dating back to 1978, 21-17. However, since SIUE began playing in the OVC in 2010, the Redhawks have gone 3-10 against the Cougars. In all, SEMO is 8-9 in Edwardsville. In road OVC games, the Redhawks have only been victorious once, going 1-5. The last road win for the Redhawks over SIUE was on Feb. 13, 2014 (69-60). Last season, SEMO dropped both ends of the home-and-home series to SIUE then faced off again in the OVC Tournament in Nashville. SEMO took the three-seeded Cougars to overtime but fell in the end, 80-76.

Scouting the Cougars
The Cougars currently sit at 5-13 on the season and 1-4 in OVC play. SIUE will look to snap its four-game losing streak. Last week, they fell on the road at Austin Peay, 85-62, then followed it up with an 84-77 home loss to Murray State on Sunday. Four of SIUE's five wins have come on the home court including Southern Illinois, Missouri-St. Louis, Illinois State, and Tennessee Tech. Guard Donshel Beck leads the team in both scoring (14.2 PPG) and rebounding (6.9 RPG). Her scoring ranks eighth in the league while rebounding ranks 10th.

A Look Back
For the first time since Feb. 21, 2009, Southeast Missouri women's basketball defeated UT Martin, snapping a 14-game losing streak to the Skyhawks. The Redhawks were victorious on the road, 82-79. Southeast overcame an early 16-point deficit to ultimately defeat the Skyhawks. Southeast led by as much as 14 later in the game. Bri Mitchell turned in a game-high 25 points while also leading Southeast Missouri with eight rebounds. Mitchell's eight rebounds ties a career best. Saturday was the 10th 20-point game of her career and third this season. The Redhawks had three total players in double figure scoring including Hannah Noe with 18 and Olivia Hackmann with 11. Noe drained four 3-point buckets. Hackmann finished the contest with six rebounds, all of which came in the first half. Other notable performances included seven assists from Adrianna Murphy and nine points from Lakyn Gulley. Mandy Madden also swatted away two shots and pulled in three boards. In only her third appearance this season, Kaley Leyhue had two-points and three rebounds in a season-high eight minutes in her hometown. In the end, Southeast narrowly trailed in field goal shooting (48.5%) and free-throw shooting (72.7%) but won on the boards, 38-30.

Sharp Shooting Sniper
Junior guard Hannah Noe hit her 100th career 3-pointer in Saturday's game at UT Martin. Her 100 3-point makes ranks seven all-time at SEMO. The record, held by Julie Meier (1991-95) is 174. Her 50 makes this season hasn't cracked the single-season top 10 yet but she will with her 51st make. The single-season record is 68 makes from long range held by Natalie Purcell (2005-06).

Movin' On Up
The Redhawks have a few players moving up the ranks in Southeast's career records. Hannah Noe's 100 made 3-pointers ranks seventh while Olivia Hackmann's 94 rank tied for eighth. Bri Mitchell has entered the assists list at 10th with 287 while Hackmann's 61 blocks ranks 10th as well.

Wiping the Glass
Southeast Missouri ranks 36th nationally, third in the OVC in total rebounds with 751; however, Southeast's 41.72 rebounds per game ranks 55th nationally. Southeast is 7-4 when it outrebounds its opponents. With only 30 teams ranked in the category, SEMO ranks 19th in the country with 16 offensive rebounds per game, a figure that leads the OVC. A season-high 32 offensive boards against Lipscomb (Dec. 6) resulted in 30 second-chance points, also a season best.

Taking Better Care of the Ball
Since back-to-back 20+ turnover games against Louisiana and Alcorn State, the Redhawks have improved its handling of the ball. In 11 games, the Redhawks have had 13 or less turnovers in seven including two games with just eight (Stephens College) and seven (Tennessee Tech) turnovers. Following the Louisiana game, Southeast averaged 4.3 more turnovers a game. SEMO has worked to average 0.2 turnovers less than its opponents.

Welcome to the Club
A 26-point performance against Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 31 gave redshirt-senior Olivia Hackmann her 1,000th career point, making her the 17th all-time member of Southeast's 1,000-Point Club, eighth of SEMO's Division I era. Sonya Daugherty and Tarina Nixon (2005-09) were the last inducted into the club. With 977 career points, senior Bri Mitchell will be the next member inducted.

Redhawks for THREE!
As a team, Southeast Missouri ranks 25th nationally in 3-point field goals made (141) and 29th in 3-point field goal percentage (.367). In the OVC, the Redhawks rank fourth in 3-pointers made but lead in 3-point shooting.
