#8 Redhawks Down #5 Little Rock, Advance to Quarterfinals with 68-65 Win Wednesday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — #8 Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball (13-17, 8-12 OVC) edged the #5  Little Rock (15-16, 11-9 OVC), 68-65, with a decisive 23-point surge in the fourth quarter. The Redhawks capitalized on turnovers, scoring 17 points from the Trojans' 14 giveaways.

First Quarter  
- Raissa Nsabua opened the scoring for Southeast with a free throw at 9:04.  
- Little Rock briefly took control with a 5-1 run, highlighted by Jordan Holman's three-pointer.  
- The Redhawks responded with a series of fast breaks, including Ainaya Williams' layup to tie at 9-9.  
- Lexi McCully extended the lead with a three-pointer at 2:20, closing the first quarter with the Redhawks ahead 18-11.

Second Quarter
- The Redhawks increased its lead with a 3-pointer from McCully assisted by Nsabua, extending the advantage to 24–11 early in the quarter.
- Carmen Taylor's assist set up Da'Kariya Jackson for a successful 3-pointer, pushing the visitors ahead 27–15 midway through the frame.
- Williams added a layup and a free throw, contributing to a 37–20 lead late in the quarter.
- At halftime, the Redhawks led Little Rock 39–23.

Third Quarter  
- The Trojans capitalized on their opportunities in the paint, scoring 16 points during the quarter.  
- Holman contributed significantly by grabbing 10 rebounds, four of which were offensive.  
- The home team tied the game midway through the quarter and took the lead, ending with a 23-7 run.  
- At the close of the third quarter, Little Rock led 46-45.

Fourth Quarter
- Nsabua scored a layup and assisted Jackson on a fast-break play to cut the deficit early.
- Taylor hit a crucial 3-pointer at 7:27, tying the game at 54.
- Kearra Jones contributed a block and an offensive rebound, followed by a layup to extend the Redhawks' lead.
- In the closing seconds, Zoey Rixter's free throw sealed a 68–65 victory for the Redhawks.
