Redhawks Head to Central Arkansas This Weekend

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- The Southeast Missouri women's tennis team will compete at the Central Arkansas Invitational Friday-Saturday, Sept. 23-24.
"We are looking to build on the successes we had last weekend in Carbondale," said Southeast head coach Mary Beth Gunn. "We had three players go undefeated in singles play. I'm looking to get those players more challenging matches this weekend. For doubles, we are going to work on playing with a higher intensity than last weekend. We need that in the fast-paced game of doubles."
This weekend's tournament features host UCA, Ohio Valley Conference foe Murray State, Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State, Summit League affiliate Oral Roberts and Division II Northeastern Oklahoma State.
The draws for the tournament will be broken into flights with seven singles and two doubles.
Through three tournaments this season, the Redhawks have accumulated 32 total wins. They currently have a 16-17 tournament record in singles play and are 16-10 in doubles action. Ana Canahuate-Torres and Kseniya Zonova lead the squad with four singles victories. Oleksandra Doroshenko follows close behind with three. The doubles pairings of Doroshenko and Isabella Krupa, Anais Emelie and Zonova and Majtan and Warasanti all have four wins apiece.
Doroshenko leads Southeast in both total wins (9) and doubles victories (6).
