Home for the Holiday
Southeast Missouri (2-2) hosts UT Rio Grande Valley (0-4) prior to the Thanksgiving holiday Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.
Family Night
Tuesday is Family Night at the Show Me Center. All kids get in
FREE with an adult. The first 250 kids will receive a gift card for a
FREE Chick-fil-A Kid's meal. There will also be mascot basketball at halftime and team autographs after the game.

Series History
Tuesday marks the fourth meeting between Southeast and UT Rio Grande Valley. The Vaqueros come to Cape Girardeau on the back end of a home-and-home series. Southeast and UTRGV hooked up right before the Thanksgiving holiday last season with the Vaqueros winning, 83-74, in Edinburg, Texas. The Redhawks, who are 2-1, against UTRGV, last faced the Vaqueros at the Show Me Center on Dec. 2, 1991 (W, 85-56).
SEMO Ties
First-year UT Rio Grande Valley head coach Lew Hill spent two years as an assistant coach under Ron Shumate at Southeast from 1992-94. Hill worked the previous five seasons as an assistant at Oklahoma. He also coached at South Alabama, East Carolina, Texas A&M and UNLV before accepting his first head coaching job at UTRGV this season.
Winless Vaqueros
UT Rio Grande Valley, formerly UT Pan American, comes to Cape Girardeau at 0-4 this season. The Vaqueros lost to Ohio Valley Conference member UT Martin, 88-80; Memphis, 94-75; Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 94-72; and Iowa, 95-67. UTRGV ranks last in the Western Athletic Conference allowing 92.8 points a game.
Giving Thanks
Following Tuesday's game, Southeast will have a six-day layoff for Thanksgiving. The Redhawks close out the month of November at UMKC on Nov. 28.

Southeast enters the week ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in steals per game (14th, 10.5 spg), fewest turnovers per game (17th, 10.3 allowed), turnover margin (5th, +9), total steals (8th, 42) and turnovers forced (19th, 19.3). Individually,
Jamaal Calvin ranks 26th in the country with 10 steals.
Stealin' the Show
The Redhawks currently rank second in the Ohio Valley Conference with 10.5 steals per game. Southeast also leads the league with a +9 turnover margin, forcing 19.3 turnovers per contest. UT Rio Grande Valley is last in the Western Athletic Conference committing over 20 turnovers (20.8) per game this season.
Balanced Scoring
Southeast has had multiple double-digit scorers in all four games this season. Most recently, four individuals scored double figures at Bradley (Nov. 18).
Antonius Cleveland and
Daniel Simmons each paved the way with 16 points, while
Trey Kellum and
Dondre Duffus followed with 10 apiece.
Simmons Sees Doubles
Daniel Simmons scored double figures for the first time in his career when he posted 16 points at Bradley (Nov. 18). Simmons shot 5-of-9 from the field with nine of his points coming from 3-point range. He played 23 minutes against the Braves.
Last Time Out
Southeast saw a two-game winning streak end with an 84-78 loss at Bradley (Nov. 18). SEMO missed a season-high nine free throws and those loomed large in the end. BU, which led the entire game, took its largest lead of the night when Darrell Brown split a pair of free throws to make it a 74-59 game at the 2:47 mark. The Redhawks kept fighting and managed to outscore the Braves, 19-10, the rest of the way, but ultimately fell short.
Tchiengang Scores
William Tchiengang scored his first career points at the free throw line when he made two to slice Bradley's lead to 47-44 with 12:48 left to play on Nov. 18. Tchiengang was cleared from the NCAA Eligibility Center minutes before Southeast departed for its trip to Western Illinois (Nov. 16). He saw action in both games last week.
Kellum Returns Home
Peoria, Illinois native
Trey Kellum scored 10 points, all in the first half, during his return home when Southeast visited Bradley (Nov. 18). Kellum, who scored double figures in his third-straight game, shot 4-of-9 from the field and pulled down four rebounds in 24 minutes.
Turnover Free
Jamaal Calvin has gone three-straight games without a turnover. Calvin, who committed only one turnover this season, did not turn the ball over in his last 64 minutes of basketball.
Climbing the Ranks
Antonius Cleveland cracked Southeast's top- 20 all-time career scorers list following his double-digit effort at Western Illinois (Nov. 16). Cleveland is now 20th in scoring with 1,069 points. He is also ninth all-time in free throw attempts (386), sixth in steals (116) and tied for sixth in games started (80).
