Tennis Hosting Redhawk Invitational Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri's women's tennis team is back in action Saturday when it hosts William Woods and UT Martin in the Redhawk Invitational.
"We are excited to be hosting our first tournament this fall," said head coach Mary Beth Gunn. "My team has been working very hard and we are ready to compete this weekend on our home courts."
The tournament begins at 9 a.m., CT, at the Redhawks Tennis Complex with SEMO taking on WWU. The Owls will then face UTM at Noon, and the Redhawks and Skyhawks conclude play at 3 p.m.
During the fall slate, freshman Oleksandra Doroshenko leads the team in total wins (13) and doubles victories (9). Doroshenko currently sits at 4-3 in singles play, winning three of her last four matchups.
Sophomore Ana Canahuate-Torres is first on the team with six singles wins, claiming victory in each of her last five matches. She has four total doubles victories, including a perfect 2-0 record with Doroshenko.
