TV Exposure
Thursday marks the third time Southeast plays on television this season. The Redhawks' game at Memphis (Dec. 5) was televised on the CBS Sports Network and their home matchup against Ole Miss (Dec. 12) aired live on the American Sports Network. Southeast will be on TV in three of its next four games. After Thursday's contest, the Redhawks play host to rival Murray State (Feb. 4) on ESPNU and visit Eastern Illinois (Feb. 6) for an American Sports Network contest. Southeast is 0-2 in TV games this season.

Series History
Southeast owns a 15-8 lead in its all-time series against SIU Edwardsville. The Redhawks lost to the Cougars in each of their last three trips to Edwardsville. SIUE won four of the last six meetings between these teams and swept the Redhawks in 2014-15.

Four to 100
Antonius Cleveland, who ranks third on the team and sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference in steals (26, 1.5 spg), needs just four more to reach 100 in his career. Cleveland, who recently tied a career-high with four steals against UT Martin (Jan. 24), has had three or more steals in four starts this year.

First OVC Win
The Redhawks gave head coach Rick Ray his first career Ohio Valley Conference win in dramatic fashion when it hung on for a 68-60 overtime victory over UT Martin (Jan. 24). Southeast, which snapped a six-game losing streak, saw a 19-point lead disappear in the second half. Antonius Cleveland made a free throw with three seconds left in regulation to send the game to overtime. Southeast then outscored UTM, 13-5, in the extra period to secure the win. The Skyhawks, who were picked to finish second in the OVC West, suffered their third-straight loss.

Winning Streak
Southeast is on a two-game winning streak for the second time this season after beating Hannibal-LaGrange (Jan. 19), 84-61, and UT Martin (Jan. 24), 68-60, at home last week. A win over SIU Edwardsville Thursday would give the Redhawks back-to-back conference wins for the first time since Feb. 7 (68-64, vs. Eastern Illinois) and Feb. 12 (98-76, vs. UT Martin), 2015. Southeast has not had a winning streak of three or more games since winning five in a row from Feb. 20-Mar. 5, 2014.

Cleveland Returns
After missing three games with an injured right wrist, junior guard Antonius Cleveland returned to post a double-double 20 points and and 11 rebounds in 39 minutes to lead Southeast to its overtime win over UT Martin (Jan. 24). Cleveland shot 7-of-17 from the field and 5-of-11 at the free throw line. He made a free throw to send the game to overtime with three seconds left in regulation. Cleveland also had two steals and scored four points in the final 1:32 of the overtime period. For Cleveland, it was his team-high fourth double-double this year.

Difference Maker
While it was Antonius Cleveland who got Southeast's game against UT Martin to overtime, it was Trey Kellum who made a big difference in the end. Kellum scored six of the Redhawks 13 points in overtime, as Southeast outscored the Skyhawks, 13-5, in the extra period. He finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds, the first double-double of his career. In addition, Kellum went a near-perfect 5-of-6 at the free throw line. He has scored double figures in three-straight games, currently the longest double-digit game scoring streak for the Redhawks.

Halftime Leads
After falling behind at halftime in seven-straight games, Southeast headed into the locker room with a 32-15 lead against UT Martin (Jan. 24). It was the Redhawks largest halftime lead of the season and just the fourth time Southeast led at the half this year. Southeast is 3-1 in games when it holds a halftime lead.

Good to See You Again
Southeast head coach Rick Ray spent time with SIUE assistants Kent Williams and Tarrance Crump during his tenure at Purdue. Ray (2006-10) and Williams (2005-08) were together on Matt Painter's staff. Ray was an assistant coach, while Williams was supervisor of basketball operations. Meanwhile, Crump played his final two seasons at Purdue when Ray was an assistant coach.

First-Year Coaches
Rick Ray and Jon Harris are both 4-16 overall and have one Ohio Valley Conference win during year one as head coach at their respective institutions. Ray, Harris, Eastern Kentucky's Dan McHale and Murray State's Matt McMahon are the OVC's first-year head coaches this season.

Man-to-Man Defense Gets Positive Results
Southeast recently switched to man-to-man defense and the adjustment is paying off. Opponents were shooting 50.7 percent (188-of-371) from the field, 40.3 percent (73-of-103) from 3-point range and averaged 85.5 points per game against the Redhawks previous zone defense over the first six Ohio Valley Conference games. Since Southeast shifted to man-to-man, it limited its opponents to under 40 percent (.393) from the field, under 30 percent (.255) from 3-point range and 60.5 points per game in its last two contests. The Redhawks also forced 31 turnovers, collected 19 steals and scored 30 points off turnovers in their latest two victories.

Angus Plays Strong
Joel Angus III averaged 11.5 points and eight rebounds in two starts last week. Angus is coming off an 18-point, eight-rebound performance vs. UT Martin (Jan. 24). Before that, he dished out a season-high eight assists and had eight rebounds against Hannibal-LaGrange (Jan. 19). Angus, who ranks fourth on the team in scoring (10.3 ppg) and second in rebounding (5.9 rpg), has scored double figures in five of his last seven starts. He also pulled down seven or more rebounds in each of his last three contests.

OVC West Division Play
The remainder of Southeast's Ohio Valley Conference schedule includes games against teams in the Redhawks own division. Southeast is currently 1-0 in West Division play after beating UT Martin (Jan. 24) last week. Entering this week's games, no West Division team has an overall record better than .500 and preseason West Division favorite Murray State (4-3) is the only team with a winning OVC mark.

Free Throw Streak
Tony Anderson carries a streak of 16 consecutive free throws into Thursday's game against SIU Edwardsville. Anderson made his last six free throws at Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 9) before going perfect at the charity stripe in three of his last four contests. He made 6-of-6 free throws vs. Jacksonville State (Jan. 13), 2-of-2 at Tennessee Tech (Jan. 16) and 2-of-2 vs. Hannibal-LaGrange (Jan. 19). Anderson's last missed free throw was with 5:28 remaining in the first half at Eastern Kentucky.
