Game Notes:
Southeast Missouri Match Up with the MastodonsThe Southeast Missouri baseball team is slated to play its first home series of the 2014 season beginning Friday. The Redhawks will welcome the Mastodons of IPFW. The Mastodons are currently 2-2 on the young season after splitting two doubleheaders last weekend.
Let's ReviewAfter opening the season 2-1 at Oral Roberts, Southeast's original home opener against UALR was moved to Little Rock, Tuesday. Offense was difficult to come by on both sides in the contest as the lone run of a 1-0 loss came in the bottom of the first inning. The Redhawks opened at home Wednesday against the Harris-Stowe Hornets. The contest was HSSU's first game of the 2014 season. The Hornets put up a good game in their season opener against Southeast but the Redhawks prevailed in the 6-4 victory.
Lights OutThe Redhawks bullpen has been stellar so far this season. In 20.1 innings out of the pen, Redhawk pitchers have given up only five runs to opponents.
Speed RacersSoutheast Missouri currently leads the OVC in stolen bases in five games. Southeast is 10-of-11 on the base paths in 2014. Eastern Kentucky is 6-of-7 attempts and no one else in the league has no more than three stolen bases as a team.
Jason Blum and
Cole Bieser each have two stolen bases while six other Redhawks each have one apiece.
OVC Preseason PollThe Southeast Missouri Redhawks were picked to finish sixth in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2014. The Redhawks had no picks to the Preseason All-OVC team. Southeast Missouri was picked eighth in 2013 but exceeded expectations in
Steve Bieser's first year as head coach as the team finished sixth overall. With the No. 6 seed in the tournament, the Redhawks went 2-2 before being eliminated. Southeast Missouri finished the season 26-33.

Bradford played in 30 games for Southeast. In three appearances out of the bullpen this season, Mosel is sporting a 0.00 ERA in 3.2 innings of work. Mosel has struck out three batters and only walked one.
