Redhawks Return from Break
Southeast welcomes Jacksonville State following an eight-day layoff. The Redhawks lost, 79-70, vs. UT Martin on Feb. 12. Southeast heads to UT Martin on Feb. 22 after Thursday's matchup.

Against the OVC East
Jacksonville State marks the final Ohio Valley Conference East Division opponent the Redhawks face this season. Southeast is 2-3 against the OVC East Division this season. Half of the Redhawks conference wins were against such teams, including Tennessee State (102-94 on Jan. 11) and at Tennessee Tech (83-74 on Jan. 18).

OVC Tournament Picture
Three teams have clinched a spot in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, scheduled for Mar. 5-8 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium. Belmont, Murray State and Morehead State are already in. The Racers locked up the OVC West Division, as well. Southeast currently sits in ninth place overall and fifth in the OVC West. The Redhawks will look to position themselves for one of the five remaining berths with four games left this season. Southeast has made the OVC Tournament and won a postseason game in each of the last three years under head coach Dickey Nutt.

Stay Tuned
While Southeast jockeys for an Ohio Valley Conference Tournament berth, there is little room for error at this point. The ninth-place Redhawks square off against 10th-place Jacksonville State in a pivotal matchup Thursday night. Southeast currently sits at 4-8 in conference play, one game out of eighth. The Redhawks will look to take care of business as things continue to shake out over the final weeks.

Bradley Day-to-Day
Southeast's top scorer, Jarekious Bradley, is currently day-to-day. Bradley injured his left knee early in the first half against UT Martin on Feb. 12. He underwent an MRI late last week and results came back negative for any ligament damage. Bradley is not expected to start against Jacksonville State Thursday.

Series History
Jacksonville State owns a 12-4 advantage in its overall series against Southeast, dating back to 2003-04. The Gamecocks have won three of the last four meetings between these teams. JSU won each of the last two matchups, both in Jacksonville (69-59 in 2011-12; 67-65 in 2012-13). The Redhawks defeated the Gamecocks twice in their previous three trips to Cape Girardeau. Southeast is 3-4 against JSU under head coach Dickey Nutt.

Another Record on the Brink
Lucas Nutt will make his record 101st career start against Jacksonville State Thursday. Nutt will tie Derek Winans (2001-05) for Southeast's record. Nutt scored four points and nabbed a career-high six rebounds in his 100th career start vs. UT Martin (Feb. 12). He has started 25 games this season.

Stone Now Sixth on Southeast's Scoring List
Tyler Stone moved to sixth on Southeast's all-time scoring list after turning in his 22nd career double-double vs. UT Martin (Feb. 12). Stone scored 21 points and pulled down 16 rebounds to secure his team-high 10th double-double this season. He has scored 1,425 points in his career and moved ahead of Marland Smith (1,423 pts., 2009-13). Stone and Smith were teammates at Southeast in 2011-12 and 2012-13.

Good to Be Home
The Redhawks are at home for three of their final four Ohio Valley Conference contests. Southeast, which has lost three of its last four, is coming off a 79-70 setback vs. UT Martin (Feb. 12). After Thursday's game, the Redhawks head to UT Martin Saturday before returning home to host Austin Peay (Feb. 27) and Murray State (Mar. 1). Southeast is 6-4 at the Show Me Center this season, but has suffered two-straight OVC losses on its homecourt (vs. Eastern Illinois on Jan. 25; vs. UT Martin on Feb. 12).

Last Time Out
Southeast suffered a 79-70 loss to UT Martin at the Show Me Center on Feb. 12. The Redhawks and Skyhawks met for a nationally-televised CBS Sports Network matchup. Southeast played 35 minutes without its top scorer in Jarekious Bradley, who went down with a left knee injury early in the first half. Bradley scored just two points in five minutes before his injury and did not return. Tyler Stone led the Redhawks with a double-double 21 points and 16 rebounds, while Josh Langford followed with 14 points.  Southeast trailed, 33-30, at halftime and fell victim to an 11-1 run with under four minutes remaining. UT Martin is presently below Southeast in the Ohio Valley Conference West Division standings with an overall record of 8-19 and 3-9 in the OVC.

Three-Pointers Hard to Come By
The Redhawks have shot just 20.9 percent (9-of-43) from three-point range in their last two Ohio Valley Conference home games. Southeast shot a season-low 19 percent (4-of-21) from behind the arc in a 77-74 loss to Eastern Illinois on Jan. 25 and 22.7 percent (5-of-22) in a recent 79-70 loss to UT Martin on Feb. 12. The Redhawks went without a three-pointer in the first half for the first time this season when they shot 0-of-9 against the Skyhawks.

Johnson to Start Thursday
Junior forward Nino Johnson is projected to start against Jacksonville State Thursday. Johnson, who is averaging 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, is the Redhawks third-leading shot blocker with 22 swats. He has not been in the starting lineup since Jan. 25 (vs. Eastern Illinois).

Countdown to 1,000
Lucas Nutt is 88 points away from getting 1,000 in his Southeast career. Nutt has scored a total of 912 points since joining the Redhawks in 2009-10. He is averaging eight per game this season.  If Nutt hits the mark, he will become the third 1,000-point scorer under head coach Dickey Nutt.

Twenty Plenty
Tyler Stone has scored over 20 points in five of his last eight games. Most recently, Stone finished with a double-double 21 points and 16 rebounds against UT Martin (Feb. 12). It was his fourth double-double in that span. Stone has scored 20 or more points 12 times and pulled down double-digit rebounds on a team-high 10 occasions this year.

Block Party
Tyler Stone and Nino Johnson rank second and third, respectively, in career blocks at Southeast. Stone has 115, while Johnson is close behind with 114. Stone leads the team with 37 blocks this season. William "Bud" Eley currently holds the school record with 156 blocks from 1995-99.

About Jacksonville State
Jacksonville State comes to Cape Girardeau on a five-game losing streak, presently the longest in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Gamecocks are 2-12 on the road this year, and as a result, have the second-worst record away from home in the league behind Tennessee State (1-12). JSU ranks last in the OVC in scoring offense (65.5 ppg) and 11th in field goal percentage (.424). The Gamecocks are also last in the league defending the three as opponents are shooting .383 against them. JSU has scored below 70 points in each of its previous five losses. Darion Rackley and Brian Williams are the Gamecocks top two scorers with 12.9 and 11.3 points per game, respectively. Rackley and Williams did not start JSU's last game against Eastern Kentucky (Feb. 15). Avery Moore follows with 8.6 points per game this season.
