Series HistorySoutheast and Southland Conference member Central Arkansas hook up for the 11th time in 2014-15. The series between these teams currently stands tied at 5-5. The Redhawks face the Bears for the third time in their NCAA Division I era. All other meetings in the series came when Southeast was NCAA Division II. The Redhawks lost four-straight against UCA in Conway, Ark., and dropped their last two matchups vs. the Bears. Southeast's last win over UCA was a 77-76 overtime victory at the Show Me Center on Jan. 3, 1987.
Against the Southland ConferenceCentral Arkansas is the first of two Southland Conference schools the Redhawks face this season. Southeast has squared off against six Southland Conference opponents during its basketball history. The Redhawks are 14-7 all-time against such teams, holding a 5-5 record vs. UCA, a 0-1 record vs. Nicholls State, a 4-0 mark vs. Southeastern Louisiana, a 2-0 record vs. Texas-Arlington, a 2-0 record vs. New Orleans and a 1-1 record vs. McNeese State. Southeast also meets Southeastern Louisiana on Dec. 6.
Bradley and Langford ReturnJarekious Bradley and
Josh Langford both scored double figures in their first game of the season vs. Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 18). Bradley, who missed the first two games with a quad contusion injury, scored a game-high 15 points on 5-of-10 field goals and buried four three-pointers during his first game in eight months. Meanwhile, Langford followed with 13 points on 5-of-6 field goals and 2-of-2 free throws. He served a two-game suspension due to a violation of team rules last semester at the beginning of this year. Bradley and Langford are now the Redhawks leading scorers after only one game this season.
Difference MakerJarekious Bradley scored double figures for the 28th time in his Southeast career when he put up 15 vs. Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 18). Bradley made the first shot he took, sinking a three from the left corner. He has also scored 20 or more points a team-high 18 times in his career.
Jones Starts StrongJunior
Isiah Jones is off to a strong start in his first year at Southeast. Jones has scored double figures in each of his first three starts, including a season-best 11 in back-to-back games (at Loyola Marymount; vs. San Diego). He ranks fifth on the team with 10.7 points per game and first in both three-pointers made (5) and assists (11).

Nino Johnson (10) and
Isiah Jones (10) recently accomplished that feat against Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 18). A total of 12 different players scored in that game for Southeast. The Redhawks 86 points came after they scored under 70 in their first two contests. Additionally, Southeast's scoring average climbed 8.3 points (61 to 69.3 ppg) after their win over the Trojans.
Redhawks Get First WinSoutheast locked down its first win of the season with a convincing 86-49 win over Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 18). The Redhawks improved to 19-5 all-time in home-openers since joining the NCAA Division I level in 1991-92. Southeast also won 11 of its last 13 home-opening contests.
Away from HomeThe Redhawks play four of their first five games away from Cape Girardeau this season. Southeast began the season with two double-digit losses, falling to Loyola Marymount, 76-66, on Nov. 14 and San Diego, 67-56, on Nov. 15. Southeast regrouped to beat Hannibal-LaGrange, 86-49, in its home-opener on Nov. 18. The Redhawks play two more road contests at Central Arkansas (Nov. 22) and Bowling Green (Nov. 25) before the Thanksgiving holiday.
Johnson Chases Career Blocks RecordSenior forward
Nino Johnson needs 32 blocks to break Southeast's all-time career record. Johnson had a single-season record 84 blocks in 2012-13. He currently has 125 in his career and ranks second behind William "Bud" Eley (156 blocks, 1995-99). Johnson was third on the team with 28 swats a year ago.
Three Games, Two Career BestsSenior forward
Nino Johnson has already established two new career-highs in three starts this season. Johnson netted a career-high 22 points in Southeast's season-opener at Loyola Marymount (Nov. 14) and had five steals against Hannibal-LaGrange (Nov. 18) four days later. Johnson is third on the team in scoring with 12.7 points per game.
Adeoye Helps InsideNewcomer
Aaron Adeoye is Southeast's top rebounder with 6.3 per game through three starts. Adeoye posted his first career double-double with 12 points and 11 boards vs. San Diego (Nov. 15) before turning around to lead the Redhawks to a +18 (40-22) advantage on the boards vs. Hannibal-LaGrange. Southeast is outrebounding its opponents, 100-95, this year.
About Central ArkansasCentral Arkansas is 0-3 on the young season after losing by 24 or more points in each of those contests. The Bears, under the direction of first-year head coach Russ Pennell, lost, 77-104, at Creighton (Nov. 14), 75-100, at Omaha (Nov. 16) and, 56-82, at Nebraska (Nov. 18). As a result, UCA is last in the Southland Conference in scoring defens, allowing 95.3 points per game. Jordan Howard and Mathieu Kamba are the Bears double-digit scorers with 14.3 and 12 points per game, respectively.
