Southeast Hosts Central Baptist
Southeast Missouri (0-1) hosts NAIA member Central Baptist College (0-3) in its home-opener Monday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m., CT, at the Show Me Center.

Home-Openers
Southeast is 17-5 all-time in home-openers since joining the NCAA Division I level in 1991-92. The Redhawks are 2-2 in home-openers under head coach Dickey Nutt. Southeast has posted victories in nine of its last 11 home-opening contests.

Series History
The Redhawks meet Central Baptist College for the first time in 2013-14. CBC is an NAIA institution located in Conway, Ark. The Mustangs are part of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Non-Division I
Southeast is a perfect 6-0 against non-Division I teams under head coach Dickey Nutt. The Redhawks are averaging96.5 points per game versus non-Division I competition. Southeast beat Williams Baptist College (116-60, Dec. 12, 2009), Hannibal LaGrange (101-52, Dec. 11, 2010), Harris-Stowe (95-60, Nov. 14, 2011), Hannibal-LaGrange (82-72, Nov. 23, 2011), Lyon College (89-61, Nov. 12, 2012) and Hannibal-LaGrange (96-55, Nov. 26, 2012 in such games with Nutt as its coach.

Redhawks Drop Season-Opener
The Redhawks led defending Atlantic-10 Conference regular-season and tournament champion Saint Louis, 35-34, in the first half before dropping its 2013-14 season-opener on Nov. 8. Southeast fell victim to a 25-8 run early in the second half and never recovered in the 87-64 loss. The Redhawks lost their season-opener for the eighth-consecutive year. Southeast is 9-14 all-time in season-opening games since moving to the NCAA Division I ranks.

Division I Experience
Southeast has a total of nine years of NCAA Division I experiene between active players on its 2013-14 roster. Tyler Stone (3 years), Nino Johnson (2 years) and Lucas Nutt (4 years) are the Redhawks returnees with previous Division I experience. Eight different Southeast players, including C.J. Reese, Antonius Cleveland, Kyle Stroder, Jamaal Calvin, Darrian Gray, Jarekious Bradley, Will Holifield and Caleb Woods saw action in their first NCAA Division I game at Saint Louis (Nov. 8).

Smashing Debut
Junior forward Jarekious Bradley registered a double-double 22 points and 12 rebounds in his first career start at Souheast. Bradley shot 10-of-17 from the field, knocked down two three-pointers, had two blocks and collected four steals in 38 minutes against Saint Louis (Nov. 8). He scored nine of the Redhawks first 13 points of the game and made a jumper to give Southeast a 35-34 halftime lead. Bradley scored 15 of his points and pulled down 11 rebounds in the first half alone. He heated up to shoot 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the field in the game's opening 20 minutes.

Newcomers on the Rise
Freshman Antonius Cleveland and junior Darrian Gray each put up double figures in the scoring column in their first career starts at Saint Louis (Nov. 8). Cleveland made 4-of-11 field goals and 5-of-8 free throws to go along with seven rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. Meanwhile, Gray followed with 12 points on 4-of-10 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws.

Stone and Johnson Out for Two Games
Southeast will be without forwards Tyler Stone and Nino Johnson for its first two games of the 2013-14 season. Stone and Johnson were suspended due to a violation of team rules and will return when the Redhawks play at IUPUI on Nov. 16.

Jones No Longer a Redhawk
It was announced prior to tip-off of Southeast's season-opener at Saint Louis on Nov. 8 that guard A.J. Jones withdrew from school and is no longer part of the basketball program. Jones was the team's top returning three-point shooter, having hit 30-of-70 for 42.9 percent a year ago. He started 24 games and averaged 8.6 points in 2012-13.  

On Guard
Lucas Nutt has made 55-consecutive starts at the point guard spot. Nutt was the only Redhawk who started all 33 games last season. He led the team with 178 assists and 25 steals, while ranking second in the Ohio Valley Conference and 21st in the nation in assist/turnover ratio (2.51). Nutt rank fifth all-time at Southeast with 75 career starts.

Record Chasers
Guard Lucas Nutt and forwards Nino Johnson and Tyler Stone are moving up Southeast's career record lists. Nutt currently ranks third all-time in assists (423), needing 119 more to break Dwayne Rutherford's record of 541 from 1986-90. Meanwhile, Johnson (3rd, 92) and Stone (7th, 78) are among career leaders in blocks. Johnson needs 65 blocks to break William "Bud" Eley's record of 156 from 1995-99.

About Central Baptist College
NAIA member Central Baptist College is a member of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference and is under the direction of first-year head coach Wes Sullivan. The Mustangs come to Cape Girardeau on a three-game losing streak after losing to Williams Baptist College (125-84) on Nov. 2, Baptist Bible College (77-74) on Nov. 5 and John Brown University (81-63) on Nov. 7. Monday's matchup against Southeast will be an exhibition game for CBC. Guard Xavier Huskey leads all scorers with 19.3 points per game. Huskey sank a pair of technical free throws before the game had even started in Saturday's 116-61 exhibition loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith. Those shots gave the Mustangs their only lead in that game. Former Southeast Director of Basketball Operations Nathan Bean is now an assistant coach for CBC.

Up Next
Southeast hits the road for two games in Indiana. The Redhawks first visit IUPUI on Nov. 16 before continuing on to face Ball State on Nov. 18. Southeast plays a home-and-home series against IUPUI this season with the Jaguars returning the trip on Dec. 23.
