Postseason Notes

Redhawks Face Tennessee Tech in Quarterfinals Thursday
No. 5 Southeast Missouri (15-15) will square off against No. 4 Tennessee Tech (18-12) in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Thursday. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m., CT, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium.

Southeast Eliminates Eastern Kentucky
Southeast ousted Eastern Kentucky from the postseason for the second-straight year when it beat the Colonels, 75-65, Wednesday in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. The Redhawks used an early 13-0 run to build a double-digit lead and led by as many as 16 points en route to victory. The Colonels were never closer than five points in the game.

Down to Six
Six teams remain in this year's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Both Southeast Missouri (15-15) and Jacksonville State (15-17) won their first-round games Wednesday. No. 4 Tennessee Tech (18-12), No. 3 Morehead State (17-14), No. 2 Tennessee State (19-11) and No. 1 Murray State (28-1) are the others.

Redhawks End Losing Streak
Southeast snapped a season-long four-game losing streak with its first-round win over Eastern Kentucky. The Redhawks improved to 2-1 in Ohio Valley Conference Tournament play under head coach Dickey Nutt.

Round Two
The Redhawks get another crack at Tennessee Tech when these teams meet in Thursday's quarterfinals. TTU won the only machup this season by a score of 77-62 on Jan. 21 in Cookeville. Southeast hooks up with the Golden Eagles at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament for the third time in 2012. TTU won the previous two meetings, 88-60, in 2007 and, 73-56, in 2002. The Golden Eagles were seeded higher than the Redhawks in each of those games.

Against the No. 4 Seed
Southeast is 0-2 all-time against the No. 4 seed at the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Southeast lost to then-No. 4 seed Austin Peay in 1998 and 2001. Both of those losses came in the first round.

Series History
Tennessee Tech owns a 30-12 lead in its all-time series against Southeast. The Redhawks have lost 17 of their last 19 games against the Golden Eagles.
