Quick Hits

Niemczyk Cleared to Play
Southeast guard Nick Niemczyk was cleared to play before the Tennessee State on Feb. 4. Niemczyk missed five-straight games due to a concussion he sustained during the team's practice on Jan. 18. He is the Redhawks fourth-leading scorer with 9.1 points per game and boasts an 11.5 points per game average in conference play this season.

Quest to 1,000 Points
Junior guard Marland Smith needs just nine more points to reach 1,000 in his Southeast career. Smith, who ranks as the Redhawks second-leading scorer with 12.3 points per game this season, has a total of 991 since joining the program in 2009-10. Derek Winans was the last Redhawk to score over 1,000 points in a career when he had 1,505 from 2001-05.

Wilford on the Rise
Corey Wilford came off the bench to score double figures for the second-straight game and sixth time this season when he dropped in a career-high 16 points in 29 minutes against Tennessee State (Feb. 4). Wilford shot 6-of-15 from the field and hit four three-pointers against the Tigers. He averaged 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in his last two games.

Last Place Skyhawks Come to Cape
UT Martin comes to Cape Girardeau as the last place team in the Ohio Valley Conference with an overall record of 3-22. The Skyhawks, winless at 0-12 in league play, are on a 13-game losing streak. UT Martin has not won a game since it beat Bethel College, 86-83, on Dec. 13. The Skyhawks are 1-12 on the road.
