CONWAY, Ark. - Southeast Missouri (0-2) posted three singles victories in a 4-3 loss to Central Arkansas (2-4) Sunday.
Elizabeth Nyenwe earned her first win of the season with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Kristina Horsikyan in the No. 2 singles spot. Melissa Martin won her second-straight match when she took care of Allison Hartman, 6-3, 6-3, in the No. 4 position. Heather Robinson then registered her first career win at Southeast when she beat Kazumi Otani, 4-6, 6-3, 10-2 at No. 6.
Nyenwe and Nikole Novikova teamed up to beat Hartman and Allison Murphy, 8-4, in No. 1 doubles, but the Bears won the point with two-straight wins after that.
Southeast returns to action when it faces South Dakota in Peoria, Ill. on Feb. 25.
