The Southeast Missouri tennis team opens the OVC Tennis Championships as the No. 2 seed and will battle with Southern Indiana in the first match of the tournament. 
 
OVC Seeding
 
The Redhawks finished in a tie for second with Western Illinois and Lindenwood but through multiple different tiebreakers the Redhawks come out of the pack with the No. 2 seed. 
 
The winner of the match will face either No. 3 seed Bryant or No. 6 seed Tennessee State. 
 
OVC History
 
The Redhawks have won the OVC Championships twice in 2022 and 2023. In coach Steve Brooks first OVC Tournament appearance the Redhawks made it to the championship match before falling to SIUE. 
 
Series History
 
SEMO will look to continue its unbeaten streak against the Screaming Eagles as it enters the match with a 4-0 all time record. In the first match this season the Redhawks won 6-1. USI has never earned more than one match point against SEMO.
 
 
Looking Ahead
 
If the Redhawks win the OVC Championships, they will advance to the NCAA Tournament in which the dates and opponents will be determined later.
