Redhawks Trek to Tennessee Tech for OVC Weekend
Southeast Missouri Baseball (26-11, 8-4 OVC) will continue its road swing this weekend when they take on Tennessee Tech (12-25, 2-10 OVC) in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Redhawks will play a three-game series with TTU on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 17-19. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m., 2 p.m., and 1 p.m., respectively, from Bush Stadium in Cookeville, Tenn.Â

Run Rule Tuesday
SEMO Baseball picked up its 26
th win of the season in seven innings on Tuesday evening with a 12-1 dismantling of Murray State in Murray, Ky. The Redhawks jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening frame with an RBI walk from
Andrew Ramirez and a two-out, two-RBI single from third baseman
Carson Schrack. Another RBI single from Ramirez in the second inning gave SEMO a 4-0 advantage after the first two innings. RHP
JoJo Keldsen (1-0) who made his first career start in a SEMO uniform pitched lights out as he allowed just three hits and no runs over 4.0 innings. A two-run bomb from
Cal Sullivan in the fourth inning extended SEMO's lead to 6-0. For Sullivan, the blast was his team-leading 11
th bomb of the season. The Redhawks blew the game wide open in the seventh inning with a six-run frame highlighted by four, RBI singles and an RBI double that gave SEMO an 11-run lead.Â

Racer Beatdown
Tuesday's victory completed the season sweep of regional rival Murray State. The Redhawks dominated MSU in both games this season allowing the Racers just two runs over two games. Conversely, SEMO scored 20 runs on 21 hits over the two games and did not record an error in either contest.Â

League Standings
The weekend series at Tennessee Tech begins the second half of Ohio Valley Conference play. The Redhawks, who are 8-4 in OVC play, comes into the series in third place and are just two games back of league leaders Eastern Illinois (10-2) and SIUE (10-2). SEMO is tied for third with Little Rock (8-4) followed by a three-way tie between Lindenwood, Morehead State, and UT Martin who are all 5-7 in conference action.

Andrew Ramirez is one of the toughest hitters to strike out in the entire country. Ramirez, who has struck out just five times this season in 115 at bats, ranks first in the Ohio Valley Conference and second in the nation. Ramirez is averaging one strike out for every 23 at-bats this season. Â
