Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Southeast Missouri tennis squad finished its regular season defeating Tennessee State 7-0 on Saturday.
The Redhawks took the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova secured a commanding 6-1 win over Taylor Ellis and Claudia Murdasanu at No. 1 doubles.
Saskia Soome and
Yontha Tadoum followed with a 6-2 victory over Ar Arrieta Castillo and Jovana Nikolic at No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 2 doubles featuring
Kristina Kozakova and
Sofia Zemtsova went unfinished with the Redhawks leading 4-3.
In singles play, SEMO dominated, securing all six matches.
Claudia Casas initiated the singles sweep at No. 6 singles, defeating Taylor Ellis 6-0, 6-2, bringing the overall score to 2-0. Kozakova extended the lead to 3-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Natalie Walsh at No. 3 singles.
Mayerova clinched the dual match for the Redhawks at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Jovana Nikolic, making it 4-0. Tadoum added to the lead at No. 5 singles, defeating Claudia Murdasanu 6-4, 6-0. Soome continued the momentum at No. 4 singles, winning 6-4, 6-1 against Julie Tungamirai, and Zemtsova closed out the sweep with a 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 2 singles. The final dual score was 7-0 in favor of the Redhawks.
